Your challenges <ul><li>Use two yellow post-its </li></ul><ul><li>Write the name of your council on each post-it </li></ul><ul><li>Then on write your personal view of your council’s two challenges in addressing efficiency (one per post-it) </li></ul><ul><li>Place post-its on flipchart pages </li></ul><ul><li>Scan the range of challenges identified by others </li></ul><ul><li>Play ‘snap’ and cluster post-its in related themes/groups </li></ul>

Sharing your success <ul><li>Using two green post-its </li></ul><ul><li>Write the name of your council on each post-it </li></ul><ul><li>Then on write two successes/strengths which you have on addressing efficiency (one per post-it) </li></ul><ul><li>Place post-its on flipcharts against the earlier themes where you think your success/strength is relevant </li></ul><ul><li>Collectively, if at all possible, try to aim for one success married to a challenge theme. </li></ul>
  4. 4. If I was in your shoes … <ul><li>Scan the themes and challenges </li></ul><ul><li>Using two orange post-its </li></ul><ul><li>In response to the challenges, give your view of “If I was in your shoes ….” </li></ul><ul><li>Place in the area of the relevant theme </li></ul>

Imagine a tool for … <ul><li>collaborative knowledge sharing </li></ul><ul><ul><li>what works and doesn’t work, but will in certain circumstances </li></ul></ul><ul><li>collaborative problem solving </li></ul><ul><ul><li>helping find the one person who’s thinking about the same challenge </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>or has a suggestion which could help </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>or enabling suggestions which could help someone else </li></ul></ul><ul><li>drawing on local government expertise in </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Drafting a policy, specification, contract ... </li></ul></ul><ul><li>mass on-line conferences, debates and ability to question experts </li></ul><ul><li>comparative benchmarking on efficiency </li></ul><ul><li>… </li></ul>

Blueprint for March 2011 <ul><li>A culture of collaborative knowledge generation , learning, sharing and problem-solving in respect of efficiency & VfM </li></ul><ul><li>A resilient user orientated, easy-to-use, technological platform which rapidly captures content in a diverse range of forms ‘pulling’ collaborative knowledge generation, learning, sharing and problem solving </li></ul><ul><li>A reliable, robust and transparent web-based benchmarking tool which enables councils, and their partners, to easily identify and transfer appropriate good practice </li></ul><ul><li>A passion amongst LGA Group frontline staff to capture and share good practice, and contribute to problem solving; and encourage others to do so too. </li></ul>
