  2. 2. To identify Paul in early art, it helps to know he was usually depicted as bald.
  3. 3. Sometimes Paul disagreed: “I opposed him [Peter] to his face because he was clearly in the wrong.” (Gal 2:11 NIV)
  4. 4. Again, Peter and Paul depicted in opposition.
  5. 5. At other times, they were seen as respectful friends.
  6. 6. . . . or talking it over
  7. 7. . . . or co-martyrs.
  8. 8. Sometimes Jesus was depicted favoring Peter. Here Jesus gives a scroll of the law to Peter.
  9. 9. Again, Jesus gives a scroll of the law to Peter.
