GREEN CITIZEN’S GUIDE – I USE LESS ENERGY 1

  1. 1. GREEN CITIZEN’S GUIDE – I USE LESS ENERGY 1 The price of electricity in Greece rises every year (Eurostats: price per kWh increased by 102% compared to 2002 and by 10% compared to 2012). On the same time, the easy access to electricity and the increase of electrical devices in our lives pushed the power consumption up. Greek Households' consumption in electrical energy is continuously rising (Eurostats: by 21% in the last decade). This means that energy becomes an overload on households' budgets while in parallel their income is decreasing. Knowing that renewable energy sources participate by only 9.2% of the national production, the rest is produced from plants which significantly deteriorate the environment. The phenomenon of electrical waste is an important point the ecological consciousness fights against and for which it proposes easy and effective solutions. To reduce the Carbone footprint, the reduction of energy consumption is mandatory. Where to start? To start and have the optimized impact one must start where one consumes the most of the energy at HOME. My first step to reduce the ENERGY CONSUMPTION at HOME and as well I help my savings To reduce the electricity consumption can be achieved easier by acting on many different sources consumption.
