The Secrets of Building Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut In Luxor:
In the rocky hills of Deir el-Bahari, part of it is dedicated to the
worship of God Amon. Its design is considered one of the finest
things the Egyptian artist has done in architecture. It was built by
the Queen’s Minister (Senemt) and may have been inspired by the
cemetery of Montuhotep (in the medieval era).
It consists of three surfaces at different levels, and these surfaces
are connected to each other by an upward road that ends at the
next surface, and on both sides of the road are two elevator lanes
with columns. The last roof ends with the body of the mountain in
which the God’s room (the Holy of Holies) is carved.
In Deir el-Bahri, learn about the history of the construction of the
most important ancient Egyptian funerary temples in Luxor, Egypt,
and the secrets of the pharaohs that you did not know.

Luxor Temple
www.hurghadalovers.com
Who was responsible for the construction of the temple of Luxor and
to whom was it dedicated?
King Amenhotep III began construction of that temple on the
eastern bank of the Nile in Thebes (now Luxor), then King Ramses II
completed it and was dedicated to the worship of God Amon.
Construction date: mid1350- and 1400 BC
Architects: Amenhotep the Third, Amenhotep the Second
Length: 803 feet.
Width: 181 feet.
Why is the Luxor Temple important?
The Pharaonic king, Amenhotep the Third, established in order to
assert before his people and opponents his family lineage of the
god Amun and that he was from his crucifixion and has the first right
to the throne of Egypt, where he established the birth room and
recorded his birth on the entire wall and walls of the room.
There is another opinion from researchers and archeologists that
the reason for the construction of King Amenhotep the Third is this
temple due to the satisfaction of the priests of the god Amun, so
that he can become king on the throne of ancient Egypt as a
legitimate king, where he made special drawings of the god Amun
describing him as the god of fertility and called it “Amon Ra Like
death of Fei “or Amun Ra, the mother of Thor’s mother”

Colossi of Memnon
www.hurghadalovers.com
Colossi of Memnon Facts:
Location: funerary temple of Amenhotep the Third
Opening date: 1351 BC
What was the Colossi of Memnon used for?
King Amenhotep the Third – Eighteenth Dynasty
Architect: Amenhotep bin Habu
The statues were built during the reign of the Pharaonic king,
Amenhotep the Third, within the memorial temple, but with the
passage of time and the conditions of climate and erosion, these
two statues remain only.
Why was the Colossi of Memnon built?
A memorial statue of that name was named by the Greeks when
one of the statues was cracked and a clear sound came out, so
the Greeks named it after the legendary hero Memnon who was
killed in the famous Trojan war, where every morning he called to his
mother and was crying like a dew according to the Greek legend.
Why is the Colossi of Memnon important?
The statues were associated with the Greek myth of Memnon,
where there was a warrior named Memnon who fought mightily in
the Trojan War and was killed by Achilles, where the Greeks
believed that Memnon was the son of Dawn Eos and that his
mother was rising every morning singing to him with a sad voice.
