Introduction In this job sheet you will use the Color Picker (eyedroppers) to experiment with
Photoshop color correction features. By clicking on the neutral gray in a photo
using the appropriate color picker, the photo will rebalance itself by removing a
color cast of red (warm) or blue (cool).

❏ 2. Open the RGB resource image file titled “Unit7.WB.JS06-00” located
on the Student CD.

and sand.

❏ 3. Open the Info Palette and follow the procedures in Job Sheet 5 to
add a color sample point using the Eyedropper tool just to the left of
the person’s face.

❏ 4. Notice this is an area of the picture that should be a neutral gray,
meaning all three values–CMY—are close to being equal. When
looking at the Info Palette (see Figure 2), you will notice that this
picture is high in the Yellow/Magenta-Red values. A midtone should
be over 25% and below 75%. Look for values near the 50% range,
in general, by looking at the CMYK color values of the Info Palette as
you move the Color Sampler tool across the picture. A light portion
of the picture would fall below 20% and a dark portion of the picture
would fall above 80%. For right now let’s focus on the midtones of
the picture since they make up the majority of the color values found
inside most pictures.

❏ 8. Use the selected eyedropper to click once inside the photo where
the color sample 1 is positioned to the left of the person’s face, which
affects the midtone and sets this as the photo’s gray reference point.
✔ Note: Figure 5 shows the tool tip that will appear if you hold your
cursor over the top of the middle eyedropper in the Adjustment
palette. This tells you what will be accomplished by choosing this
tool.

❏ 9. Notice the colors have all shifted from red and that the sand, sky and
person in Figure 6 now have a more natural color without the red
cast.
✔ Note: Figure 6 shows that the Curves Adjustment mapping lines
have all adjusted automatically inside the Curves Adjustment
palette. Photoshop will rebalance a picture by simply knowing
where the neutral grays of a picture should be located.
❏ 10. Experiment with other areas of the photo that you feel represent the
middle tones of a picture to see what results you are able to produce
using this technique.

❏ 11. Rebalance the white and dark areas of a photo (highlights and
shadows) by choosing the white eyedropper and clicking on the
arm (white) of the person or the back of her dress (black) to achieve
better balance in the highlights and shadow portions of the picture.

✔ Note: The red line is now lower, which means that the color
values for red are now lower. The blue line is slightly higher, which
means that these values in the Info Palette will be higher.

❏ 14. Go to File Save As and name the color corrected file with the
adjustment layer intact as “Unit7_JS6_YourInitials_Balance1C”.
❏ 15. Keep the original file (where you removed the adjustment layers) and
name it “JS6_Balance1”.
❏ 16. Highlight the Curves Adjustment Layer in the Layers palette and click
on it once. Click on the trash can located in the lower right corner of
the Layers Palette to remove the adjustment layer.
✔ Note: Remember color correction takes a lot of practice and is
also subjective to an individual’s preference.
❏ 17. Choose a stock RGB picture from the Internet that has a color cast
issue of being too blue (cool) or too red (warm). Repeat Steps 3
through 13 of this job sheet.
❏ 18. Save the original stock RGB picture by following Step 14 of this job

1. ClaimCenter (CC) Application (version 6.0.4 Patch 1):
CC application is hosted on two VM servers running in clustered mode. Server names are dmi-
win-gwwebp1 and dmi-win-gwwebp2. P1 is called the online server that the users having access
to ClaimCenter log into this internal web server for accessing the ClaimCenter application. P2 is
called the ClaimCenter batch server which is used for internal batch runs.
Tomcat v. 6.0.30 is the application server. ClaimCenter consists of Primary ClaimCenter
application and Contact Center application (ContactCenter is the address book that stores 1099
contacts and is accessed from within ClaimCenter). Both apps have their own Tomcat instances.
These Tomcat instances run as a Windows Service that can stop and start ClaimCenter and
Contact Center applications.
2. Oracle Database – ClaimCenter needs Oracle 11g as its database. DB server has a schema for
ClaimCenter and ContactCenter. The server also has a Logical Standby (clone of primary instance)
that is required and accessed by InetSoft Reporting application.
3. Mainframe – ClaimCenter interacts with the mainframe in following ways:
a. ClaimCenter calls Policy Search and Retrieve PMS programs used to setup a New Claim.
b. Claims Center creates and uploads four files (RESEOB, CLMXNF (PUOF), CHFILE and PPF)
via ftp which is processed by the mainframe daily batch cycle.
c. Provides access to the ClaimCenter Oracle database table that stores financial records
used for the company balancing reports.
d. Provides access to database table that stores Surcharge Tier Threshold information
accessed by a mainframe program for Surcharge Automation processing.
4. ISO – The Insurance Services Office (ISO) provides a service called ClaimSearch which helps detect
duplicate and fraudulent insurance claims. When a claim is entered in ClaimCenter, details are
sent to the ISO ClaimSearch service, and get reports of potentially similar claims from other
companies.
5. Metro – Metropolitan Reporting Bureau provides a nationwide police accident and incident
reports service in the United States. Many insurance carriers use this system to obtain police
accident and incident reports to improve recordkeeping and to reduce fraud. ClaimCenter built-in
support for this service decreases deployment time for Metropolitan Reporting Bureau
integration projects, particularly for personal lines carriers.
ClaimCenter integrates with Metropolitan Reporting Bureau (Metro) using the XML Gateway for
requesting police accident and incident reports. Requestors enter all the necessary data in
ClaimCenter and then send the information through the Metro gateway. You do not need to visit
the Metro web site to request reports or to view reports.

6. Audatex – Provides Auto Appraisal Service. Claims information is sent from ClaimCenter
(requested by a claim rep) via an XML WebService to Audatex and asynchronously receives
completed Estimates/Photos/Supplemental/Total Loss documents back into ImageRight.
7. Xactimate – Provides Property Appraisal Service. Claims information is sent from ClaimCenter via
XML WebService to Xactanalysis and asynchronously receives completed estimates, photos, and
other documents back into ImageRight.
8. First Notice of Loss (FNOL) Intake
a. Alliance – Provides after hours claim intake service for Donegal. Claims are ftp’d from
Alliance as XML to an ftp server.
b. Donegal Website – Provides a portal for Agents to enter claims online.
Claims are then sent to Agency Automation Service manager that transforms it into xml
that ClaimCenter understands and ftp’s it to an ftp server.
c. Applied – Allows agents to enter claims on Applied Software installed on their systems.
An interface (managed by the WritePro team – (Vicki Nace) translates the claim
information into XML and ftp’s it as XML to an ftp server.
ClaimCenter runs an integration program that is scheduled by the OpsWise scheduler
application to pick up XML files from ftp the server during the following timeframe:
6 am–6 pm EST Monday–Friday recurring every 5 minutes excluding holidays
9. Integration Batch server (dmi-win-gwbtch)– Below programs are executed on the batch server:
a. FNOL Intake – process described in bullet 8 above.
1. ‘alliance_fnol.bat’ is the windows batch file that executes this program. It’s
scheduled in OpsWise to run Monday–Friday from 6 am–6 pm, slated to run
constantly cycling every 5 minutes.
b. Claim Extractor – This is the process that creates the nightly CHFILE to be processed by
nightly mainframe cycle.
1. ‘claimextractor.bat’ is the win batch file that executes the program to create
CHFILE.txt
2. ‘ftpclaimextract.bat’ is the batch file that executes the program to ftp the flat file
to the ftp server is – dmi-win-dmvftp
It’s scheduled in OpsWise to run Monday–Friday from 6:15 pm.
c. Check Extractor – This is the process that creates the nightly PPFFILE to be processed by
nightly mainframe cycle. Includes the text to be actually printed on the checks.
1. ‘checkextractor.bat’ is the win batch file that executes the program to create
PPFFILE.txt

2. ‘ftpcheckextract.bat’ is the batch file that executes the program to ftp the flat file
to ftp server – dmi-win-dmvftp
Process is scheduled in OpsWise to run Monday–Friday from 6:15 pm.
d. PUOF Extractor – This is the process that creates the nightly CLMXNF file to be processed
by nightly mainframe cycle. Example of this is a Date of Loss Change.
1. ‘puofextractor.bat’ is the win batch file that executes the program to create
CLMXNF.txt
2. ‘ftppuofextract.bat’ is the win batch file that executes the program to ftp_out the
flat files onto an ftp server named – dmi-win-dmvftp
It’s scheduled in OpsWise to run Monday–Friday at 6:15 pm.
e. Applied Claim Download – this process extracts specific ClaimCenter claims transactions
and sends them to the agency automation group for upload to the Agency system.
1. ‘appliedClaimDownload.bat’ is the win batch file that executes the program to
create the nightly download file. This bat file is triggered from OpsWise to run
Monday–Friday 6:15 pm
2. *Automize Task copies the text file to a network shared folder to be processed by
agency automation group (Vicki Nace). It’s scheduled to run at 7:30 pm Monday–
Friday on dmi-win-schd01 server using Automize 11 scheduling software.
f. ImageRight invokes a ClaimCenter WebService to send the document metadata that
creates a link to the document in ClaimCenter.
g. Store ISO Match Reports – ClaimCenter Application server (dmi-win-gwwebp2) receives
the ISO match report from ISO via the ISO Proxy Server:
(dmi-win-isop1.donegalgroup.dmz) and saves it on this server
h. Store RES/Alpha EOB (Donegal medical repricing system) – MS SQL Server (Express
Editionfree standalone version) is setup on dmi-win-gwbtch that connects to RES
application on the Network Shared drive, using Linked Server within the SQL Server.
ClaimCenter also talks to this SQL Server to access RES repricing processes.
1. ‘resEobtoImageright.bat’ is the windows batch file that creates EOB pdf’s and
sends them to ImageRight. It is scheduled by OpsWise to run Monday–Friday
7am–5:55pm at scheduled 1 minute intervals.
2. ‘resEobextractor.bat’ is the windows batch file that executes the program to
create the daily nightly ‘RESEOB’ flat file to be processed by the mainframe
nightly batch. Its scheduled in OpsWise to run Monday–Friday at 6:00pm
3. ‘ftpresEobextract.bat’ is the win batch file that executes program to ftp the
‘RESEOB’ text file to the ftp server – dmi-win-dmvftp.
This windows upload task is scheduled in OpsWise to run Monday–Friday at
6:00pm. Upon completion of the RESEOB.txt upload, OpsWise deletes this
temporary RESEOB.txt file using an OpsWise ftp automated task.

4. *Automize tasks execute programs in RES that creates a daily text file to be
uploaded (Sftp) to Procura (External Vendor) for medical bill repricing. Task is
scheduled to run Monday–Friday at 7:00 pm
5. *Automize task imports files from Procura Sftp and executes programs in RES to
process the files. It is scheduled to run Monday–Friday at 8:00 pm
i. Alpha Medical Repricing Vendor (used for MICO and Le Mars claims)
1. ‘medbillextractor.bat’ win batch file executes program to create the daily claims
file and the medical bill pdf’s that have been marked to be sent to Alpha for
repricing in ClaimCenter during the day. This is triggered by OpsWise at 6:30 pm
Monday–Friday
2. *Automize task uploads Claims file and Bill image pdf’s at 7:40 pm Monday–
Friday to the Alpha SFTP site.
3. *Automize task downloads repriced Payment file from Alpha – Scheduled to run
at 11:00 am Monday–Friday.
4. *Automize task downloads EOB’s from Alpha – Scheduled to run at 11:30 am
Monday–Friday.
5. Process Medical Payments – ‘medBillProcessPayments.bat’ executes a program
that reads the payment file downloaded in i.3 to create automatic payments for
the repriced bills in ClaimCenter.
6. Process EOBs – ‘medBillProcessEobs.bat’ executes a program that imports the
EoB pdf’s downloaded in i.4 to ImageRight
j. Real Time Check Extractor – This process creates a nightly excel spreadsheet for all Real
Time Checks issued in ClaimCenter on that day and emails to a distribution list.
1. ‘realtimecheckextractor.bat’ is the win batch file that executes the program to
create the spreadsheet. It’s scheduled in OpsWise to run Monday–Friday 6:20 pm.
2. *Automize emails the spreadsheet — scheduled to run Monday–Friday 6:45 pm.
k. Missing ClaimCenter Transactions Report – This process creates an email report of
transactions that were missed from being sent to mainframe nightly batch.
1. ‘missingTransRpt.bat’ is the win batch file that executes program to create the
report. It’s scheduled by OpsWise to run all days at 7:00 am. Email Recipients are
Robin and Madhu

10. Network Shared folder
a. RES is installed at xxxxxx
1. Auto Medical Unit staff works directly on this application
2. It is also accessed by ClaimCenter and Batch server via the SQL Linked Server
installed on the Batch server (see 7.h for more details)
b. ImageRight Cold Import – currently located donegalgroup.comImagingProdoasis8
The METRO reports are dropped into one of these Oasis directories
(currently there are 8 directories) and processed into ImageRight by one of the
ImageRight Application servers.
11. SMTP (Exchange email server) – This is configured in ClaimCenter to send claims email notices
to agents such as changes to a claim that exists on a policy.
12. InetSoft Reporting – dmi-win-gwrepp1 server hosts the ClaimCenter Reporting application.
Reports are accessed from within the ClaimCenter application.
13. Data Warehouse – The data warehouse retrieves examiner contact information from the Claim
Center database on a daily basis. The examiner information is used for the creation of the reports
on the Claim Report Launcher and in the Cognos Data model.
14. DMI Web Database - The Web Database retrieves examiner contact information from the Claim
Center database on a daily basis. The Web Database then display examiner contact information
on the WEB for the claims associated with the examiner.
15. ERAC (Enterprise Rent a Car) ARMS – ARMS is a rental reservation and rental management
system hosted by Enterprise. ClaimCenter communicates with ARMS by sending a WebService
request to open a new rental reservation.
ERAC responds with Rental Confirmation and Rental related updates back to ClaimCenter.
ClaimCenter rental claim also contains a link that opens the ARMS site in a browser window,
signing them in automatically and taking them to the claim directly.
