RE: Letter of Recommendation for David Baldazzi
To Whom It May Concern,
I have known Dave for seven years now during his tenure of employment with Horizon
Well Logging, Inc., as a logging geologist, and have personally worked with him daily on
field geologic projects that involve drilling for hydrocarbon and geothermal energy
throughout California and Nevada. While working with Dave, I have found him to be an
excellent field geologist pertaining to sedimentary, metamorphic, and igneous drill
cutting rock sample identification. He also possesses astute ability to analyze and process
associated downhole information in real time; he can think on his feet. In addition, his
insight into downhole geologic conditions that may affect drilling, while drilling, is
technically superior in my assessment. He maintains high safety standards for himself
and those around him while in the field, works well under occasional difficult and
challenging field conditions, and is a team player.
Dave is very conscientious, dependable, detail-oriented and hard-working. He has the
ability to synthesis diverse field-generated data while working with sophisticated logging
software and hardware, which enables him to employ his consistently effective problem-
solving skills when required. Dave also thoroughly understands the engineering
requirements for well drilling to depths exceeding 20,000 feet total depth, and
subsequently his sedimentary and petrologic geological expertise combined with a
comprehensive knowledge of drilling engineering applications, make him an
experienced, capable and eminently suitable candidate as field geologist within the
energy sector.
