Upon receiving this presentation, we were bowled by its intensity and passion. Something that begins as a slap can at some point result in death? Yes, we get it.
And dating violence is serious business. And it will take much more than "just saying no" to abolish it.
Walk away. Run away. Tell the perpetrator to go away. Don't accept anything as "playing" or "a joke" if you don't think it is.
And report it. Keep video of your treatment to share to others...including parents, teachers, friends and yes, law enforcement. Keep time stamped photos of your bruises and circulate those too.
In the "big" picture, your treatment and injuries aren't your fault. In the smaller picture, perhaps you could have done things differently and next time, you'll be safer and better prepared.
Take your experience, as horrible and as violative as it was, and educate others to help make them safer. You'll be amazed at the rush you'll receive from sharing your stories with others!
