SMART DIGITAL PORTS OF THE FUTURE 2022 12th May 2022, ROTTERDAM 5 Port of Valencia: Big Data Research Projects - DataPorts DataPorts aims at providing a data platform in which transportation and logistics companies around a seaport will be able to manage data like any other company asset, in order to create the basis to offer cognitive services. The data platform will leverage Blockchain to make the integration of data sources significantly easier, faster and more reliable.  3 main scenarios for demonstrating the solution:  Port of Valencia with use cases on:  1) Tracking of transport operations  2) Port Authority Data Sharing and Analytics Services  3) Sharing Verified Gross Mass  4) Digital Consignment Note.  Port of Thessaloniki with use cases on container management and the deployment of statistics services.  Global Scenario with use cases on smart container and port management.  Large-scale PoC solutions will be experimentally validated in one factory, one ship and two ports  36 months project: January 2020 – December 2023. SMART DIGITAL PORTS OF THE FUTURE 2022 12th May 2022, ROTTERDAM 6 Port of Valencia: Big Data Research Projects - DataPorts DataPorts Use Cases Use Case on Tracking of Transport Operations  Objective: Develop a common platform able to gather information related to real-time positioning of containers.  Actors:  Freight forwarder and Shipping Lines: Interested in knowing the specific location and status of containers  Importer/Exporter: Interested on the location and status of goods  Valencia Port Authority: provides container locations from the automatic gate system and the Port Community System  Digital platforms: Traxens, Tradelens and Posidonia provide the location in real time Use Case on Port Authority Data Sharing Platform  Objective: Develop a platform able to receive and aggregate data from multiple sources to offer analytical services to other companies operating in the port.  Actors:  Valencia Port Authority: Receives data from several entities in the port and transport domain. It needs a platform to collect all the data, process it, and finally provide specific analytical services to different stakeholders.  Customs: Provides aggregated data about the tax procedures that import/export companies do when they transport goods.  ValenciaPortPCS: Terminals, road hauliers, freight forwarders, and other companies involved in the transport operation send information to the port authority through the PCS.

SMART DIGITAL PORTS OF THE FUTURE 2022 12th May 2022, ROTTERDAM 7 Port of Valencia: Big Data Research Projects - DataPorts DataPorts Use Cases Use Case on Sharing Verified Gross Mass  Objective: Since international regulation requires a Verified the Gross Weight as a condition of loading a full container on a vessel, DataPorts platform will provide a verifiable and immutable VGM certificate.  Actors:  VGM requestor (freight forwarder or shipper): Uses the DataPorts platform for submitting the container weight request, ensure the payment of the services, and obtaining the VGM certificate.  Road hauliers: Register the certified gross mass of its trucks and semi-trailers.  Scale operator: Offers their services through the business network using DataPorts solution. Use Case on Digital Consignment Note  Objective: Considering the existing restrictions for the introduction of electronic road transport documents, and that eFTI establishes the full obligation for Member State authorities to accept regulatory cargo transport information or documentation, DataPorts will ensure the consensus, origin, immutability and finality of these legal documents and data.  Actors:  Freight forwarder: Request the electronic transport documents.  Road Haulier: Use the consignment note during the transport if it is required by the authorities (e.g. police)
