Evaluation question 5

  1. 1.  Overall I addressed my audience by using the research I had gathered before the production section, to formulate my designs.
  2. 2. Similarities between my product Differences:and professional product are: Shot typeMast head in the top left FontsBold titleListing articlesBanner at the top/bottom
  3. 3.  My front cover’s layout is similar to that of Q and NME magazine, who I had done initial research on My mast head is slightly less simplistic as Q and NME, however, it still follows the Red, White, and Black colour scheme which I had found to be prominent in music magazines I used the idea of listing articles, which I found to be very effective in NME magazine Also similar to NME magazine, my main title is in big, bold red letters, which really catches the readers attention I have also included a banner listing some of the magazines contents, this is similar to that on both Q and NME magazines
  4. 4. Similarities:‘Contents’ at top Differences:List of articles left hand side Only two different imagesReview sectionMain image position
  5. 5.  I styled my layout on that of Q magazine as I thought that it was effective whilst doing my initial research I have included a review section like Q magazine, as well as regulars and specials However, NME magazine has included many more images then my own and has used a white and black colour scheme, as opposed to my red, white and black colour scheme which I stuck to after my initial research
  6. 6. Similarities: Differences:Main image on Each spread isleft page mainly specific toText on right page the artist they areQuote at top of aboutright page
  7. 7.  The layout I found most effective was having the left page as a main image of the artist and the right page the main article from my research, so that influenced my design I also included a quote above the article as I found that to be common in many double page spreads and that it looks quite professional I also feel that I stuck to my red, black and white colour scheme
  8. 8. 1) Initial sketch 2) Basic first draft - 3) Improved draft –of layout on this was a mock up feedback from my targetoddpod.com, b of what I was audience and Miss Emmett showed that theased on my planning to achieve original draft was not eyeresearch of with my final draft catching enough, so IQ, NME and using pictures I had increased the amount of text around the mainRWD not take myself image and used moremagazines creative fonts
