‘Democratic National Convention
This Presentation is based on Barbara Charline Jordan speech.
This great woman was born on February 21, 1936 and

educator, an American politician, and a leader of the
Civil Rights Movement. A Democrat, she was the first
African American elected to the Texas Senate after
Reconstruction, also she was the first Southern African-
American woman elected to the United States House of
Representatives. This woman has made a lot for America
and it’s nation.
Barbara’s aim was not to enumerate the problems which

emanating from race, sex, economic condition. The
government must remove them, seek to remove them.”
The power of the country are people who live in it.
The second thing which Barbara has admitted was:

Barbara Jordan’s speech is very inspiring. She
