  1. 1.     Self  Service  is  Better  than  Full  Service    At  Network  FOB  we  believe  in  empowering  agents  by  providing  them  with  self-­‐service  tools  to  speed  process  flow  while  at  the  same  time  keeping  administrative  costs  low.    Network  FOB  is  for  the  best  few  who  see  themselves  as  the  cream  of  the  crop,  know  how  to  run  a  business  and  want  to  be  paid  accordingly.    Case  in  Point      Carrier  set-­‐up.  Most  principals  religiously  guard  new  carrier  set-­‐up.  While  gaining  little  in  security  this  causes  innumerable  delays  and  potential  lost  sales  on  the  part  of  agents.  Network  FOB  has  built  in  automated  crosschecks  of  carrier  safety  and  reliability  which  advise  agents  of  potential  troublesome  carriers  while  allowing  agents  to  take  responsibility  for  validating  their  own  carriers  making  new  carrier  set-­‐up  a  2  minute  process  instead  of  a  2  hour  wait.      Case  in  Point    Customer  collections.  Probably  the  worst  job  in  the  industry  is  collecting  from  customers  who  don’t  pay.  This  is  seconded  only  by  ignorant  headquarters  staff  who  don’t  understand  the  customer,  arbitrarily  shut  off  otherwise  good  clients  and  can’t  spot  the  root  problem  let  alone  the  fix.  Network  FOB  maintains  the  person  who  sold  the  account  should  do  the  collection.    Once  upon  a  time  we  had  a  collection  staff  and  invariably  the  old  game  of  telephone  was  repeated  over  and  over.  You  know  the  one  where  one  person  tells  somebody  something  then  they  repeat  it  back  to  somebody  else  and  before  you  know  it  the  result  is  non-­‐sense.  We  ask  agents  to  solve  their  own  collection  problems  by  making  sure  orders  (and  resultant  invoices)  are  correct  when  they  go  into  the  system  ensuring  timely  processing  by  the  client.      Case  in  Point    Credit  Allocation  and  Agent  Risk.  At  Network  FOB  we  assign  all  established  agents  a  credit  risk  limit  allowance  to  enable  them  to  extend  credit  to  new  clients  on  the  spot.  Many  times  waiting  on  establishment  of  credit  has  cost  sales  or  at  the  very  least  added  workload  and  anxiety  to  the  agent’s  job.  Beyond  that,  establishment  of  actual  new  credit  facilities  and  the  increasing  of  credit  limits  for  older  more  established  clients  is  typically  a  5-­‐minute  affair  at  Network  FOB.      
  2. 2.  Case  in  Point    Carrier  payment  changes.  Network  FOB  take  a  unique  approach  to  carrier  settlements.  If  the  amount  the  carrier  invoices  and  the  amount  the  agent  had  set  up  for  carrier  pay  match;  no  problem;  nothing  new  here.  In  those  case  where  they  don’t  match,  carrier  invoices  are  first  sent  to  audit  and  only  if  the  amount  cannot  be  resolved,  they  are  referred  to  agents  to  resolve  with  the  carrier  directly.  This  process,  similarly  to  customer  collections  lowers  the  amount  of  touches  on  any  task  to  the  minimum  thereby  keepings  costs  low.    Case  In  Point      Carrier  payment  inquiries.  Network  FOB  was  one  of  the  first  to  create  a  simple  solution  to  carrier  payment  inquiries  by  putting  all  carrier  payment  information  on  the  web  accessible  by  carrier  and  agent  alike.  Network  FOB  also  notifies  carriers  of  entry  into  the  settlement  queue  the  day  we  get  their  billing  and  again  the  day  we  issue  payment.  This  increases  carrier  satisfaction  and  reduces  redundant  payment  inquiries.      Case  in  Point    POD  receipt.  Network  FOB  electronically  notifies  agents  the  minute  a  POD  is  received  to  facilitate  faster  billing.  Agents  may  then  view  POD  files  to  ensure  accuracy  or  facilitate  special  billing  requirements.      Case  in  Point    COD  payments.  Network  FOB  takes  credit  cards  of  all  types  and  web  entry  checking  account  debits  at  the  control  of  agents.  For  clients  you  do  not  think  should  have  credit  terms,  this  is  a  timely  and  convenient  option  and  its  all  automated  when  it  comes  to  posting  payments.      Case  in  Point    Commissions.  What  its  all  about  is  fast  timely  and  larger  commission  payments.  At  Network  FOB  agents  pay  themselves  as  often  as  daily.  Each  time  an  invoice  is  created,  the  commission  for  that  shipment  is  placed  into  an  online  commission  program  and  available  to  the  agent  via  ACH.  This  eliminates  the  waiting  and  wondering    for  the  weekly  commission  settlement  and  finds  and  solves  errors  in  real-­‐time.      The  Real  Point    At  Network  FOB  we  pay  better  because  we  keep  our  costs  low.  We  use  2011  thinking  supported  by  technology  and  live  by  the  philosophy  of  not  solving
