    1. 1. ‘ Computer Literacy Programme for Gram Panchayat ’ Our story of Change from Satya Bharti School Barrondi, District - Kurukshetra, Haryana. All Students of class 5th Mentor Teacher : Mr. Chatter Singh.

Step 1: FEEL <ul><li>Haryana government is computerizing its various departments. </li></ul><ul><li>Most of works related to Gram Panchayat is also getting computerized. </li></ul><ul><li>If Gram Panchayat is empowered then they themselves would become change agent for the whole village. </li></ul><ul><li>It will ultimately serve our purpose of providing computer education to the deprived & underprivileged section of the community at free of cost & with easy accessibility . </li></ul>

Step 2: IMAGINE <ul><li>We discussed the problem with our mentor teacher & unanimously we decided to implement the idea of computer literacy to empower the Gram Panchayat. </li></ul><ul><li>Then a module is developed to cater their needs which runs for a short span of time but covers the complete basics. </li></ul>&quot;Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.&quot;

Do-Going Out <ul><li>We met the stakeholders and initiated a dialog about how computer is affecting their day to day life as well as benefits of e-governance, which is directly affecting their professional life. </li></ul>“ There is only one person who could ever make you happy, and that person is you”

Step 3: DO - teaching to the Sarpanch and other Panches <ul><li>We organized trainings with stake holders. </li></ul><ul><li>Trainings were conducted in various time slots according to their convenience. </li></ul><ul><li>School laptop was put into action because of its high portability. </li></ul><ul><li>Follow up trainings were conducted to further their already learned concepts. </li></ul>“ Doing a Task may not always bring happiness, but there is no happiness without Doing a Task”.
    6. 7. Do Reaching out to all members of the Gram Panchayat
    7. 8. Do Spreading out to the community leaders in order to have better and sustainable impact.

How were we changed? <ul><li>As the idea was to empower them but we felt a great amount of change in us, hence we are mentioning and proposing the following--- </li></ul><ul><li>It was an overwhelming satisfaction for us. </li></ul><ul><li>Now idea is to move forward-Starting a computer training centre in the Panchayat Ghar. </li></ul><ul><li>Among the members two persons are identified and they will be trained as trainers so that programme brings sustainability. </li></ul>
