Issue: Sexual HarassmentEarlier this month, I had an employee report a case of SexualHarassment….about an employee I counted a friend.
The situation:An employee came to me anddescribed an uncomfortableconversation that occurred betweenher and another one of myemployees.It was quite clearly a case of sexualharassment.
My company does not tolerate anything like thisDespite the employee who was reported being someone I considered a friend, I called theEthics Department to report the issue and sent emails about the situation to all themanagers who needed to be made aware.
WaitingKnowing about the investigationand not being able to talk to eitherparty was difficult.Once the investigation was doneand people had been contacted, myemployee was upset I didn’t tell him.Unfortunately I didn’t have a choice.
