Unit 3 nutrition alba s

  1. 1. NUTRITION BY LAURA, LUCIA Y ALBA
  2. 2. NUTRITION Nutrients give our cells all the energy they need. The digestive system, the respiratory system, the circulatory system and the excretory system carry out the function of nutrition.
  3. 3. THE DIGESTIVE SYSTEM It has two parts, the digestive tract and the digestive glands.
  4. 4. THE RESPIRATORY SYSTEM The respiratory system is in charge of breathing. Breathing makes two movements: - First we inhale air and it goes into the lungs. - Then we exhale air sending it out of the lungs
  5. 5. THE EXCRETORY SYSTEM The excretory system filters waste substances from the blood. It removes them from the body through excretion. The excretory system is made up of sweat glands and the urinary system.
  6. 6. SWEAT GLAND THE URINARY SYSTEM
  7. 7. THE CIRCULATORY SYSTEM Transports nutrients and oxygen to our cells. It is made up of the heart, blood and blood vessels. The heart is a muscular organ that pumps blood around the body. The blood collets oxygen and nutrients and transport Blood vessels are three types;arteries veins and capillaries
  8. 8. The arteries:carry blood from the heart to the rest of the body. The capillaries are very thin vessels that reach cells of the body. The veins carry blood from all over the body back to the heart.
  9. 9. THE BLOOD Blood is a red liquid tissue made up of cells that float in a liquid called plasma. There are three types of blood cells, red blood cells white blood cells and platelets.
  10. 10. THE HEART The heart uses rhythmic systole and diastole movements to pump the blood around the body. 1.Blood enters the atria through the veins. 2.Then passes to the ventricles. 3.Blood comes out of the ventricles through the arteries. 4.Finally travels all over the body.
  11. 11. HUMAN CIRCULATION
