  2. 2. The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) is used to rank applicants for the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) program, administered through the Express Entry system. Federal Skilled Workers are not required to have Canadian work experience to be considered for the Express Entry pool, unlike candidates for the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). Instead, applicants must obtain a minimum score based on qualifications like education, work experience, and language proficiency. After being added to a pool, the applicants with the highest CRS scores will be given the opportunity to apply for Canadian permanent residence. Eligibility to Apply for FSW A candidate must satisfy some minimal requirements about years of experience, degree of education, age, and English or French language ability to be eligible for the Federal Skilled Worker Program: Experience at Work ● A minimum of 12 months of uninterrupted, full-time, competent job experience gained within the last ten years (or an equal amount in part- time experience). ● Work experience categorized as noc skill level 0, a, or b is referred to as skilled work experience. Knowledge of a Language Immigrate to Canada under the Federal Skilled Worker Program 1.
  3. 3. ● Obtain a score on an authorized English or French test of at least Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7. Education ● A minimum of a Canadian high school diploma or its international equivalent. Supporting Resources ● A sufficient amount of money to sustain them, any spouse, and children throughout their stay in Canada. Habitation in Canada ● Must be planning to relocate outside of Quebec. If a candidate satisfies the criteria above, they must also show that they receive at least 67 out of 100 points on the Federal Skilled Worker, eligibility points grid. How do You Apply to the FSW Program? Express Entry profiles must be submitted to Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada by interested parties (IRCC). Express Entry profiles do not guarantee that applicants will be granted Canadian permanent residency. After submitting an express entry draw, a candidate will only receive a CRS score and be considered for the next federal express entry, drawings for Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for permanent residence. The following papers are required by FSW candidates when submitting their Express Entry profiles: ● Assessment of Educational Credentials (ECA) An FSW candidate must provide a valid ECA report attesting to the value of their international education about Canadian norms to claim points for education. Canada has five organizations that can publish ECA reports. For qualifications earned from a Canadian educational institution, this is not necessary. ● Results of A Language Proficiency Test
  4. 4. All express entry system applicants must provide the results of a valid language test performed within the last two years. The IELTS and CELPIP tests are valid English proficiency assessments (only available in Canada). The Test d'Évaluation de Français (TEF) and the Test de connaissance du français pour le Canada are recognised exams for French (TCF Canada). ● Identification Paperwork Candidates must provide information from identity documents. The candidate and all accompanying family members should ideally have current passports. A Canada immigration consultants will proceed to the second stage of the application procedure if they are granted an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residency. The applicant will have 60 days to prepare and submit an electronic Application for Permanent Residence (eAPR) in this second stage. Additional documentation is needed for this application.
