  3. 3. Brand Positioning <ul><li>While I wish to be known for my PR professionalism and sports enthusiasm, I also want to convey my personal values of friendship and family. </li></ul>

What’s the deal? <ul><li>To gain entrance into a linked in group that combines my interest in both PR and sports </li></ul><ul><li>To connect with 25 people on twitter that represent my brand </li></ul><ul><li>To get a job in Public Relations by fall of 2010 </li></ul><ul><li>To engage outsiders into our Ning discussion page on sports </li></ul>

I can communication with others and network without any hesitations. </li></ul><ul><li>I am able to adapt well in situations which may seem challenging at first </li></ul><ul><li>I am a very hard worker, especially when I have others relying on me to get things done </li></ul><ul><li>I am a great listener, and am always open to others ideas and eager to hear other’s opinions on certain topics </li></ul><ul><li>WEAKNESSES </li></ul><ul><li>I find it difficult to say no to people and sometimes take on too many tasks </li></ul><ul><li>I am not afraid to give my opinion and stand up for what I think is right </li></ul><ul><li>I can get slightly impatient if other team members are not all working at the same pace </li></ul><ul><li>I find it hard to delegate work to others when they are available even when I have a lot on my plate </li></ul><ul><li>OPPORTUNITIES </li></ul><ul><li>By communicating with PR professionals now, I will be able to establish relationships before I apply for jobs </li></ul><ul><li>My knowledge in sports will help motivate me to pursue my goals </li></ul><ul><li>By taking a class in Social Media, I will have an advantage when applying for jobs </li></ul><ul><li>THREATS </li></ul><ul><li>By concentrating on one field of PR, I may be closing myself off to other opportunities </li></ul><ul><li>Due to heavy workloads in school, it may become difficult to keep my online brand updated </li></ul><ul><li>If I brand myself incorrectly, it could take a long time to adjust my brand </li></ul>

Critical Path <ul><li>Nov. 5 th 2009 - Develop a personal brand plan </li></ul><ul><li>Nov. 12 th 2009 - Get an account with The League of Kickass under 30 </li></ul><ul><li>- Start a Linkedin account </li></ul><ul><li>- Make posts on my personal blog and on Sports NING feed {Do this constantly} </li></ul><ul><li>Nov. 26 th 2009 - Find and follow 5 people on twitter relevant to PR </li></ul><ul><li>Dec. 1 st 2009 - Find an appropriate group on Linkedin that pertains to my interests in sports and PR </li></ul><ul><li>- Engage others through social media applications to take part in our discussion forum on NING (Nuttin But Net sports discussion) </li></ul><ul><li>- Find a mentor and gain feedback on what I can do to better convey my personal brand </li></ul><ul><li>Jan. 15 th 2010 - Have connected with 15 people through twitter (Both PR and sports related) </li></ul><ul><li>- Continue to develop the sports forum on NING </li></ul><ul><li>Feb. 1 st 2010 - Continue to engage those in my Linkedin group, further developing my relationships </li></ul><ul><li>March 1 st 2010 - Update profiles on linkedin, workopolis, monster.ca to ensure application process goes smoothly </li></ul><ul><li>May 1 st 2010 - Have connected with 25 people through twitter related to my brand </li></ul><ul><li>Sept. 1 st 2010 - Get a job in PR (HOPEFULLY  ) </li></ul><ul><li>“ No one saves us but ourselves.
