Corporate Insight is delighted to unveil our 15th annual Asset Management Monitor – Investor Awards, offering a broad benchmarking of the asset management industry across five key sectors. Within each of these categories, we award Monitor Awards in gold, silver and bronze based on how well firms meet our criteria.

As in past years, we assign the gold medal to firms that present exceptional offerings within given categories. We award a silver medal to firms that offer similar value but lack some of the outstanding attributes and functions of the best offerings. We give the bronze medal to firms that provide a unique or noteworthy service or functionality but do not meet the highest standards for a given category. In this slide deck, we highlight the gold medal winners across all categories.

  6. 6. The public homepage is a website’s face to the world—the place where investors form first impressions. Homepages play a critical role in in engaging clients and prospects. As such, it is essential for firms to provide a well-balanced, responsive, attractive homepage that incorporates a solid selection of quick links to popular pages and features. Promotion of products and commentary helped firms receive more favorable grades. We evaluated homepages on design elements, links to features, readability, visuals and promotions. Public Site Homepages 6 Franklin Templeton retains the gold medal for its public homepage by maintaining signature strengths, which include a convenient login field and prominent links to funds through bold visuals promoting products and commentaries. © CORPORATE INSIGHT
  7. 7. Private Site Landing Pages 7 Private homepages showcase important account information and provide a portal to key investment figures. Account holders look to access pertinent account details, transaction histories and fund performance information quickly. The content, functionality and design of the private site landing pages are pivotal to the user experience. This category rewards firms that employ a concise, well-organized layout that includes a summary of important account information. Private homepages that afford users the ability to view portfolio balances, display a visual representation of account performance and directly retrieve statements were highly rated. © CORPORATE INSIGHT T. Rowe Price retains the gold position for its intuitive and well-designed private homepage that provides direct access to performance information, statements, commentaries and account tasks. The two-column layout provides a tablet-friendly design that highlights notifications from the Message Center, performance figures and recent investing news.
  8. 8. Product Pages 8 Product pages are an important space to educate investors about a fund’s key selling points, such as anticipated expenses and fees, performance data and portfolio composition. These pages need to be informative enough to educate both seasoned and novice investors on a fund’s most critical points. We look for fund firms that provide well-designed product pages that communicate pertinent information in a logical manner. Value-added features, such as rollover capabilities, educational callout balloons, customizable charts and dynamic interactive displays, also help firms gain top accolades. © CORPORATE INSIGHT Following a redesign in November, OppenheimerFunds leads this category thanks to its robust product pages that offer comprehensive performance details, dynamic charts and a user-friendly interface. Product pages display fund details with interactive elements, balloon callouts and commentaries.
9. 9. Educational Resources 9 Financial literacy is an ongoing struggle in the United States, so it is in the best interest of asset managers to offer their prospects the necessary tools to improve. In this category, we look for firms that offer engaging educational resources that span a variety of investing topics through different formats as well as content that caters to different investor segments. Educational resources were evaluated based on the range of topics, content format, printability, sharing options, findability and presentation. © CORPORATE INSIGHT Fidelity takes the top spot this year, moving from silver to gold by offering a wide range of educational material including articles, text-based pages, infographics, webinars, videos, courses and tools throughout the Learning Center and the Planning & Advice tabs.
  10. 10. iPad Apps 10 As more investors use mobile devices instead of traditional desktop computers, the demand for tablet-optimized account maintenance apps continues to grow. In this category, we look for firms that offer iPad-specific apps that provide a secure platform for investors to review their overall accounts and perform maintenance tasks, such as buy, sell and trade. iPad apps are evaluated based on navigation, capabilities, ease of login, account services, customization, market news, commentaries and educational resources. © CORPORATE INSIGHT T. Rowe Price takes the top spot for iPad apps by offering an easy-to-use platform that mirrors the layout and presentation of the desktop version of the personal investor website. The T. Rowe Price Personal for iPad app includes a Touch ID login capability and opens to the My Portfolio screen, which displays a comprehensive overview of account information and quick access to perform transactions.
