Who Are The Nightstalkers? The elite unit that does what?

Download to read offline

Nightstalkers are the elite Special Ops unit that take care of the things that go bump in the night; and worse. They correct the mistakes of scientists. They’re also a little bit crazy and a long way outside the bell curve, and not necessarily on the good end.
In essence they are The Unit for Warehouse 13.

Who Are The Nightstalkers? The elite unit that does what?

  1. 1. Who Are The Nightstalkers?
  2. 2. When I was flying around with my Special Ops team in black helicopters, we wondered who the other guys flying around in them were? Just as they were wondering who we were.
  3. 3. Who Are The Nightstalkers? Team Leader Who Cares for Her Team Perhaps More Than The Mission: Moms Team Sergeant and Longest (Surviving) Team Member: Nada Medic and Team Scientist: Doc Engineer & Demo Man and Harboring One or Two Secrets: Mac Communications Man Who Cheated His Way Through Ranger School: Kirk Pilot & Possessor of Much Useless Knowledge: Eagle Weapons Man Named after Warren Zevon’s Headless Thompson Gunner: Roland
  4. 4. Moms Moms is tall, just short of six feet, with broad shoulders, but owning surprisingly narrow hips and a nonexistent ass. She has short brown hair with a tinge of premature gray streaking through it. One can picture her riding with the Marlboro Man, owning a ranch somewhere in Texas, except she’s out of his league and she’s not from Texas. She came from one of those dark, desolate farmhouses you see on the horizon while racing across Kansas on I-70. The kind of place Truman Capote would only pay attention to if everyone inside had been slaughtered.
  5. 5. Nada Nada wouldn’t trust a Girl Scout leading a nun across the road. He’d figure there was an angle to it, and it isn’t a good one. In Nada’s world, the Girl Scout will throw the nun under the bus, then steal her rosary beads and hock them, using that—along with the money from her cookie sales—to feed her gambling addiction. Nada is a short, muscular fireplug of a man. He’s of Colombian heritage, the dark skin on his face pocked from a childhood sickness. Short gray hair rises straight out of his head as if even his own hair is afraid of the dark thoughts that run through his brain. He’s also the longest surviving Nightstalker which makes him a legend among legends.
  6. 6. Eagle A bald, black man, the side of his head is scrolled with scars from an IED in some other war in some other time. Underneath those scars? A brain full of useless information; until the team needs it to save their lives. Did you know that London cab drivers have a larger hippocampus on average than most other people, so they can memorize the maze of streets upon which they ply their trade? Eagle has a hippocampus that puts theirs to shame. That is why he has arcane knowledge such as the Kobayashi Maru and the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch as well his technical skills. He’s also the best pilot Special Ops have ever produced.
  7. 7. The team’s Communications Man. Sgt. Winthrop Carter no longer exists since the naming ceremony that christened him Kirk, after the Kobayashi Maru. But he has younger siblings back in Parthenon, Arkansas, zip code 72666, the last three digits a dark, unintended joke by the Postal Service that so aptly applies to the place. Since their father blew himself up cooking meth, they rely on him for support and perhaps family is the best motivation of all. Because sometimes you have to cheat to succeed.
  8. 8. Roland Roland, all six-four, two hundred and forty pounds of trained killer, shifted his feet uncomfortably like a freshman at the senior dance, laptop in one hand, the carrying handle of the smoking machine gun in the other, the nozzle of the flamer red hot in its asbestos sheath on his hip. The livid scar that ran along the right side of his head from the temple to above and behind his ear went red.
  9. 9. Doc Doc has four PhDs. He hates jumping out of perfectly good airplanes with the Nightstalkers, but it’s the price he pays for exploring edges of science most others only dream about. And he has an agenda, a personal one.
  10. 10. Mac Son of a Texan businessman, but disowned by his family. He sought refuge in the tough world of Special Operations. Explosives are his area of expertise, defusing more IEDs in one day than any other man ever had. It might be considered bravery. Or it might be considered a complicated attempt at suicide.
  11. 11. Nightstalkers. #1 Kindle Bestseller in Science Fiction.
  12. 12. Nightstalkers Series
  13. 13. The Nightstalkers eventually become the Time Patrol.
  14. 14. New York Times bestselling author, is a graduate of West Point and former Green Beret. He’s had over 80 books published, including the #1 bestselling series Green Berets, Time Patrol, Area 51, and Atlantis. He’s sold over 5 million books. He was born in the Bronx and has traveled the world. He’s lived on an island off the east coast, an island off the west coast, in the Rocky Mountains, the Smoky Mountains and other places, including time in East Asia studying martial arts. They haven’t caught him yet. www.bobmayer.com
