Landfill leachate varies widely in composition, it usually contains both dissolved and suspended material. The generation of leachate is caused principally by precipitation percolating through waste deposited in a landfill. The discharge of landfill leachate can lead to serious environmental problems, since the leachate contains a large amount of organic matter(both biodegradable and non-biodegradable carbon), ammonia-nitrogen, heavy metals, chlorinated organic and inorganic salts. Although some of these pollutants can be degraded by microorganisms, the limitation of common biological processes has made it difficult to meet the correlative discharge standard.  The leachate should be treated before discharged due to the risk from its high organic contaminant concentrations and high concentration of ammonia. Effluent water quality meets Standard for Pollution Control on the Landfill Site of Municipal Solid Waste(GB16889-2008).  Raw wastewater is first filtered by grid, removing large dirt. After that pH adjustment agent is dosed to neutralize the wastewater in the primary sedimentation tank. After that wastewater sequentially goes through multimedia filter and security filter, filtering all particles larger than 1μm. Then pretreated water enters super RO device, producing qualified discharge water and brine. Brine is discharge to a special tank, pumped back to a recharge process. www.conhoo.com
