• 1 - This was crucial in identifying what key features may be incorporated into the design of the CPS system. 2 – Crucial in identifying a possible USP of the CPS system over its competitors. 3 – It is human nature to be initially sceptical of technology that one doesn’t understand. By identifying how comfortable the respondent was in using internet-based facilities and their perceptions of internet security, the team could gauge how open the respondents would be to using a payroll system like CPS that operate in the cloud.
• The team received a positive response towards our cloud based system. 60% of respondents believed that they would consider using CPS. Although 40% responded negatively towards using CPS, we found that the majority of these respondents had a lack of understanding of internet technology and considered there to be significant security risks associated with storing information in the cloud. We believe however that as Ireland is seen as becoming a major international hub for cloud computing based companies in the coming years, understanding of the cloud-based type of service will increase and thus potential customers will become more willing to adopt CPS
• A key selling point of the CPS service is that it will update the relevant PAYE & PRSI tax rates automatically with any induced budget adjustments. The CPS system will also store the relevant information for companies in relation to their employees’ incomes tax: PAYE & PRSI. According to Revenue the following forms are required for tax purposes: P30, P35, P45, P46 and P60. These are the only forms sent to Revenue from a purely payroll point of view. PSDA - Psda – payroll software developer association lobbying groups for software developer group- told in advance what changes will be made to paye in advance – wont tell them specific changes (government) but let them know about possible changes which may disrupt current payroll
