What to do with all yourLinkedIn Connections?Congratulations you have made itto the magical number of 500+connections on LinkedIn!Now what……You have connected with theseindividuals for a specific reason –recruiting, job hunting, businessdevelopment.More than likely you have acombination of connections inyour network from school chumsto prospective employers.But how do you keep themorganized especially if you want tocommunicate with them?

How Can you Organize YourLinkedIn Connections?There are some ways that LinkedInorganizes your Connections orContacts for you and there aresome things you can do to organizeyour Connections.First, there are set Locations thatare inherent in the system. You canfilter your connections based onlocation, this is called “NarrowYour Connections” by Location.
  4. 4. Filtering by Industry SettingsRemember when youselected which Industrywould be listed on yourProfile?Well you can “Narrow YourConnections “ by Industry aswell.You have to remember yourconnections may be in otherIndustries than you think theywould be.
  5. 5. Filtering Your Connectionsto the right audienceNow that you have”Narrowed by Location” and“Narrowed by Industry”, youcan select the contacts thatyou want to send a messageto.

Another way to filter connections, and to take it a step farther…When you view your Connections,on the left hand side you will seegroupings called “Tags”.The default settings are for Groups,Partners, Colleagues and thenUntagged.You can further create selectionsbased on Tags by creating newTags.Go to “Manage”
  7. 7. Create the Tags that wouldbe most helpful for you toOrganize your Connections.
