Guest blogging - How to increase website traffic

 1. 1. Guest Blogging - How to get more traffic by recycling your articles

2. 2. If you are looking for unique ways to build your credibility within your market and spread the word about your website or your product then I have the answer for you. Guest blogging.

3. 3. It's as simple as finding bloggers in your niche, inviting them to publish your content on their blog, and then welcoming their readers to your website.

4. 4. 1. Finding bloggers in your niche

5. 5. I'm sure you already have a fair idea of the people blogging in your niche. After all they might be your counterparts or you competitors and knowing who they are is all part of your business strategy.

6. 6. If you don't then they are really easy to find.

7. 7. Just go over to Google and type in the name of your niche.

8. 8. Now click on the Show Options link that appears just below the search box.

9. 9. Select blogs from the list of results on the left.

10. 10. There you go, a list of bloggers in your market.

11. 11. 2. Make sure the blogger has readers

12. 12. You understand the need to get traffic to your blog, that's why you're reading this article. We both know that not all bloggers are that switched on.

13. 13. You don't want to waste your valuable time dealing with bloggers that have no readers; so you need to run some checks.

14. 14. Visit a few of the sites that appeared in the results and see how many subscribers they have (most people have an RSS badge to show this number off) and how many comments each post has. Subscribers and commenters are a good sign of a strong readership.

15. 15. 3. Contact the blogger

16. 16. Once you find a handful of blogs showing signs of strong readership you are now ready to contact them and invite them to publish your guest blog post.

17. 17. Hopefully they have their contact details on their website, but if not you can do a Whois check to find them too.

18. 18. Send them each a polite email, introducing yourself and sharing your website address.

19. 19. Tell them that you have enjoyed their blog and that you would be interested in writing a guest post for them. You might even want to suggest what the topic might be and why it would interest their readers.

20. 20. Ask them to get in touch if they want to take you up on your offer.

21. 21. 4. Send them the content

22. 22. I know what you're thinking, that I've missed a step and you don't have any content.

23. 23. But I know that you do, if you are an article writer then you have a whole stash of content, complete with effective resource boxes, at your fingertips.

24. 24. Simply head over to your Ezine Articles publisher account, pick out a great article and then send it, with the resource box, to the bloggers who agree to host your guest post.

25. 25. As a tip, it's usually easiest to do this as a .txt document as pretty much everyone can open those files. To make life easier for the blogger make sure you include the HTML for your links.

26. 26. 5. Welcome their readers to your site

27. 27. Now all you have to do is sit back and watch your visitor numbers increase once your guest blog post has been published.

28. 28. 6. Go the extra mile

29. 29. Of course if you want to increase the effectiveness of this campaign you might want to go ahead and promote your guest post.

30. 30. Talk about it on your own blog, post about it on Facebook and Twitter, maybe even bookmark it or Stumble it. You're spreading the link love to the other blogger's site and in turn increasing traffic to your own.
