Music Video Types Narrative Green Day- When September ends Narrative- Dialogue: two lovers (boy and girl) promising to love each other forever on a summers day on a field. “Never leave me” “I won’t”… Editing Technique- shot, reverse, shot. Performance Footage- extreme close up. Continuity editing/montage editing. Performance footage. Reverts back to shot, reverse, shot then we see narrative enigma- we don’t know what the boy has done- builds up suspense. Montage sequence of war. Mise en scene- everything in the frame. Love- physicality of the actors. Summer-high key lighting. Countryside- setting-field. Representation Beyoncé featuring Jay-Z Gender- Beyoncé: Objectified or empowered?. Race- negative representation of black men. Sexuality- heterosexual. Materialism- narrative to the video: Beyoncé wears more expensive clothes throughout the video. Violence- blows up a car: negative representation of black men.

Pastiche- a performer/artist will pay “homage” to another performer/artist from the past. Parody- Artist/performer mocks the work of another in a satirical way. E Intersexuality- when one piece of media references another earlier piece of media.
