3. Public funding for film is estimated to have been £266 million in the financial year 2009/10. The largest single source of funding was the UK film tax relief, which provided £95 million in 2009/10, 36% of the total. Second largest was the National Lottery; £60 million in 2009/10, 23% of the total Third largest came from the UK Film Council (funds now given by the BFI)
