Facebookwww.facebook.com<br />Profiles –personal page with personal and professional info, photos, events, applications<br />Network – based on geographic location, school, company, etc.<br />Friends– People you are connected to on network, they are able to view your personal profile<br />Wall – Homepage of profile with comments, activity<br />Applications –allow you to interact with your friends in creative ways, including games, quizzes, etc.<br />Groups – create a group surrounded by a specific interest. <br />Fan Pages– similar to groups, personal profile/mini-web page for a business or organization.<br />

Advantages<br />Growing membership, mostly college educated and internet savvy<br />Essentially free marketing (self, products/services), inexpensive to drive traffic<br />You can search/target by network (city, college, high school, or even company) <br />Place easy to create ads, targeted to members profile info <br />Connect to anyone, from anywhere around the world, accessible through mobile devices<br />Add RSS feed through profile, so friends are instantly notified of updates to your blog<br />
  6. 6. Disadvantages<br />Only have full access to one network at a time<br />Groups and Fan pages <br />Cannot delete your account/info, only deactivate it <br />

YouTube www.youtube.com<br />Upload–share any video share for free, professional/user generated (WMV, .AVI, .MOV, and .MPG files)<br />Browse/View- by topic, keyword, or popular videos on main page <br />Communities - broken down by category<br />Channel– personal profile for individual/organization<br />
  8. 8. Advantages<br />All you need is digital camera and internet connection<br />Registration is not required to view videos (however needed for additional features), <br />Videos can be embedded on websites (just copy and paste html code), blogs, etc<br />
  9. 9. Disadvantages<br />Videos not always safe for work or appropriate for children<br />Copyright infringements<br />

Twitter (www.twitter.com)<br />Tweet– Microblog post of 140 characters or less (including spaces) <br />Follow (er)- Receive user posts on homepage (higher number=greater influence)<br />@reply– @username, reply to the mentioned user:<br />“SACADA: Looking for prevention resources?
