The international design manufactory STEIN-
INGER is synonymous for purist, exquisite ar-
chitecture, interiors and design kitchens. The

(A), Vienna (A), Hamburg (GER), St. Gallen
(CH) and London (GB).
The modern design approach is deeply
rooted in a proud tradition of craftsmanship
dating back over a century. The designer
team around CEO & Creative Director Martin
Steininger instills beauty, design, sustaina-
bility, functionality as well as finest crafts-
manship in everything they touch. The focus
always lies on product quality combined with

“Uppermost priority is always given to the
quality of every single product. Needless to
say, they should be sheer joy when using

THE MANUFAKTUR
15
CEO & Chief Designer Martin Steininger (48)
is known for his minimalist designs with ‘cle-
ar corners and sharp edges’. The designs and
architectural voice / language of the highly
qualified industrial designer are in high de-
mand on the international stage, have won
numerous awards and impress with their
prominent, clear lines, their timelessness as
well as their refined details.
During the design process, he adheres to the
principle of maximum simplification, mind
you - in terms of form and not at all in terms
of furnishing: he makes use of (rather)un-
conventional materials such as stone, con-
crete, aluminum or brass to accentuate the
straightforward, at times almost archaic look
of his creations.
„Minimalism is by no means a passing fa-
shion, it‘s an attitude! Good design is clear,
subtle, timeless. Design needs to be visually
appealing and perfectly combined with tech-
nical excellence. My designs please, I take
it for granted that they work, otherwise the
product would not serve any purpose.“
CEO & Chief Designer
Martin Steininger

Spangled between the depths of the North
Atlantic and Florida‘s eastern coast, the
Bahamas comprises more than 700 stunning
subtropical islands and 2400 cays, most
uninhabited, and all fringed by spectacular
coral and fathomless ocean trenches.
From the grit and bustle of funky Nassau to
the vast mangroves of Andros, there‘s an as-
tonishing array of beaches, reefs, forests and
historic towns to be discovered, all within the
compass of an hour‘s flight. The best kept
secret of The Bahamas is the country’s sheer
size and diversity. With 16 major islands,
The Bahamas is an unmatched destination
across 100,000 square miles of the world’s
clearest ocean. The Bahamas have a popu-
lation of about 400,000 people. Two thirds
of the population live on the island of New
Providence, where the capital city Nassau is
located.
ABOUT THE BAHAMAS
25
27
There are more ‘Blue Holes’ in The Bahamas
than anywhere else in the world, as well as
the deepest Blue Hole on earth. From the
surface, they can appear mythical, and in
fact, Blue Holes feature in a number of Baha-
mian marine legends.
Exploring Blue Holes is a highlight of any
diving excursion, where you may discover
magnificent geological features like stalag-
mites, sheer limestone walls and dazzling
mineral formations that enhance the feeling
of uncovering an underwater mystery and
swimming back into prehistoric times. Un-
like the blue hole in Belize, the blue hole in
the Bahamas is right next to the shore. You
can go from knee deep water on the shore
to a sudden drop off of 663 ft. This is the
spot many free divers choose when attemp-
ting world records. On Andros Island you
can marvel at some of the 180 amazing blue
holes.

Flamingoes are the national birds of the Ba-
hamas. There are more than 80,000 flamin-
gos living in Inagua. Its protected wetlands,
now a vast national park, is home to the
largest flamingo colony in the world.
The dark pink coloration of their feathers
are derived from their food source which
comprises mainly of small crustaceans, algae
brine flies and shrimp. These animals contain
a pigment called carotenoid that the flamin-
go is able to convert in their bodies to that
pink and orange color on their feathers. In
simple terms, a flamingo color is determined
by its food. There are six different species of
flamingo. The Caribbean flamingo, also called
the American flamingo, is the only one found
in The Bahamas. The islands are home to an
enormous variety of resident bird species.
There are about 370 bird species recorded in
the Bahamas.

The Bahamas attracts millions of tourists
each year. The visitors come to enjoy its mild
climate, fine beaches and beautiful forests.
The Bahamas recorded a total of 7m tourists
in 2019, ranking 57th in the world in absolute
terms.
Smaller countries regularly perform lower
in a comparison of the absolute number of
guests. By putting the tourist number in re-
lation to the population the picture becomes
more comparable: with 18.44 tourists per re-
sident, the Bahamas ranked 9th in the world
and 6th in the Caribbean. Bahamas genera-
ted around 3.61 bn USD in the tourism sector
alone. This corresponds to 32.05 Percent of
its Gross Domestic Product and approxima-
tely 24 Percent of all income from internatio-
nal tourism in the Caribbean.

The Bahamas is a parliamentary democracy
with a stable political system, and is recogni-
zed by Transparency International as among
the jurisdictions least prone to corruption in
the Caribbean.
Corruption Perceptions Index rank 30/180,
score 63/100 (U.S. rank 25/180, score 67/100
- Spain rank 32/180, score 62/100). Economi-
cally, The Bahamas has remained stable in its
growth rate while inflation has not exceeded
3.5% over the past seven years (IMF).
In terms of gross domestic product per capi-
ta, the Bahamas is one of the richest count-
ries in the Americas (following the United
States and Canada). A former British colony
and now a Commonwealth member, the
country is a major centre for offshore finance
and has one of the world‘s largest open-re-
gistry shipping fleets. The Bahamian dollar is
pegged 1-to-1 with the U.S. dollar.

GRAND BAHAMA
47
Of the 700 islands that make up The Baha-
mas, Grand Bahama is easily one of the most
charming destinations. Beyond the beautiful
beaches on its south side, the elaborate and
luxurious all-inclusive resorts and never-en-
ding activities, this island is also well known
for its cultural history and surroundings.
Located just 55 Nautical Miles from the coast
of Florida, the Island of Grand Bahama is
the most northern island in The Bahamas’
Archipelago. Grand Bahama is the second
most populous island in The Bahamas and
its major city, Freeport, is regarded as the
nation’s best planned town. It’s known for
its beaches, reef-lined coves and mangrove
swamps as well for its Waterfront Communi-
ties, Golf Courses and Dining. With a variety
of cultural experiences and natural wonders,
Grand Bahama Island is ideal for everything
from boating, dolphin watching and eco-ad-
ventures to jeep safaris, scuba diving and
bike tours.
ABOUT GRAND BAHAMA

ideally positioned at the center of major
international trade lanes leading to Africa,
Australia, Europe, South, Central and North
America. On the island of Grand Bahama lies
the city of Freeport, a modern 230-square
mile, tax-friendly, free trade zone with world
class infrastructure.
Freeport is administered and regulated by
a private organization known as The Grand
Bahama Port Authority (GBPA). In conjunc-
tion with The Government of The Bahamas,
the GBPA has engaged in the best possible
give-and-take relationship with private ent-
erprises, resulting in the creation of a thriving
city with more than 52 000 people. Freeport
is an extraordinary center for business and
private investment. With the city of Freeport
being a free trade zone, there is a wide array
of tax incentives. Companies are exempted
from income tax, capital gains tax, property
estate tax and import and export duties. An

there are plenty of investment opportuni-
ties. Most foreign homebuyers in the Baha-

France, Britain and Italy. Ther are no restric-
tions on foreigners buying property. Foreign-

Traveling to Freeport by air, the voyage is
easy and the Grand Bahama International
Airport boasts a modern 128,000 square-
foot terminal, a US pre-clearance facility, and
an 11,000 foot runway, which is capable of
handling the largest aircraft in service and is
relatively close to all major cities of the Eas-
tern Seaboard of the United States.
The airport is a key element in the Grand
Bahama Port Authority’s long-term strategy
to develop an integrated distribution hub
and trans-shipment centre which helps in
improving the Grand Bahama logistics indus-
try. Additionally, the airport has direct flight
connections to international airports in the
U.S. and domestic flights within the Bahamas
on a daily basis.

Freeport features one of the largest man-
made harbours in the world and the deepest
in the Region. Other features include a ca-
refully planned and developed complex of
complimentary facilities: a modern container
port; a full-service cruise centre and a sea/air
business centre.
In Freeport, ships arrive from and depart to
ports in the United States, the Caribbean,
Mexico, South America, Europe, the Far East,
Africa and Australia via Atlantic trade rou-
tes; and to the Pacific via the Panama Ca-
nal. Its ideal location, fast turnaround times
and advantageous tariffs, have established
Freeport’s reputation as a major trans-ship-
ment centre. Freeport Container Port (FCP)
is privately owned and operated by Hutchi-
son Port Holdings (HPH), the world’s leading
port investor, developer, and operator with

THE REEF COURSE
The beautiful backdrop of Grand Bahama
Island makes Grand Lucayan one of the most
spectacular places to tee off in the world.
Named one of the world’s “Top 100” courses,
the Robert Trent Jones, Jr. championship
course challenges players of every level.
The open, breezy Reef course has 6,909
yards of expansive greens and fairways,
scattered with bunkers, water hazards and
grassy rough. This links-style course stret-
ches almost 7,000 yards from the back trees
and only requires a solid, short game to
achieve a low score. The close-cropped fair-
ways are forgiving, but the bunkers will test
you. The greens are large and mostly flat,
with a deceptive speed and 13 of the 18 holes
play off water. Your STEININGER Island villa
has a golf membership included.

MIAMI
ABOUT MIAMI
Miami, Florida, is the United States’ urban
playground on the beach, complete with tro-
pical days and spicy nights. Beyond the radi-
ant sun, surf and sand, Miami has rich history
as an entertainment and cultural destination.
From world-famous Art Deco architecture to
renowned nightclubs to designer fashions -
Miami is where everyone goes to play.
Wherever you go, from the Art Deco con-
dos of Miami Beach to the beautiful-peo-
ple populated clubs of South Beach, Miami
transports it’s visitors to another world, a
world of glamor, decadence and pure plea-
sure. Part of the magic is Miami‘s role as a
meeting point for cultures. With everyone
from Cuban exiles to elderly New Yorkers,
European surfers to Venezuelan dancers,
Orthodox Jews and Caribbean musicians to
college party animals, Miami is a true melting
pot and one of the most cosmopolitan cities
in the world.

The Miami Design District is a sophisticated
and inviting international destination for fa-
shion, art, architecture and fine dining. Crea-
tivity flourishes in the Miami Design District.
Spanning 18 square blocks just north of I-195
and Midtown Miami, this exciting shopping
and arts district is a treasure trove of lu-
xury fashion boutiques, edgy art galleries,
engaging public art and trendy restaurants.
The brainchild of visionary developer and
art collector Craig Robins, the Miami Design
District has grown into a sophisticated and
inviting international destination for art and
design. While window shopping at luxury
flagship boutiques such as Prada, Chanel and
Balenciaga may be what initially draws many
visitors here, the experience is elevated by
the captivating public art found throughout
the district.

ART
From international art fairs and thrilling per-
forming arts theaters to a dynamic museum
and gallery scene, Miami is a world-class des-
tination for arts and culture that will inspire
and captivate you with its spirited energy
and contemporary vision. Every year in early
December, the international Art Basel Mia-
mi Beach art fair draws thousands of artists
and collectors to our shores. The week sur-
rounding it – Miami Art Week – is filled with
satellite fairs, art shows and other events
that showcase local artists. All year long, the
destination’s dynamic gallery scene encom-
passes mainstream, thought-provoking and
emerging artists. Galleries abound in areas
including the Miami Design District, Allapat-
tah, Little Haiti, Downtown Miami and South
Beach. In the Wynwood Arts District, a kalei-
doscope of works by groundbreaking artists
can be seen throughout the neighborhood
and at Wynwood Walls, an outdoor museum
dedicated to street art. In Downtown Mia-
mi, the Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) is
a must-visit for its impressive collection of
contemporary art of the Americas.
139
Miami is a world-class nightlife destination
with something to suit every style. Whether
you want to check out nightclubs in South
Beach, go salsa dancing in Little Havana or
relax in an artsy cocktail bar, you’ll find it un-
der the moonlight here. Miami ranks among
the world’s best places to enjoy exciting
nightlife. When the sun sets and the stars
come out, a whole new world reveals itself.
Tap into the late-night energy that’s dis-
tinctly Miami, and find an amazing diversity
of nightlife options, styles and vibes. Picture
yourself dancing salsa in Little Havana or at
Mango’s Tropical Cafe in South Beach. Sip a
cocktail surrounded by street murals in Wyn-
wood. See the skyline from a rooftop bar in
Downtown Miami. Miami Beach made the
nightlife scene here famous. Late-night clubs
pulsing with music from local and internatio-
nal DJs, are prime destinations for nightlife
lovers. Downtown Miami is home to the ex-
travagant E11EVEN Miami, an ultraclub that’s
open 24/7, as well as many more clubs, hip
bars and entertainment venues such as the
FTX Arena and the Adrienne Arsht Center
for the Performing Arts.

The basic facade consists of concrete parts
with a horizontal formwork structure. This
structure has a visual resemblance to the
wooden facade parts. The wooden façade
areas have a vertical crease-like structure, a
willful architectural counterpart to the con-
crete rest. Indirect lighting in some areas
underlines the different surfaces.
FACADE FLOOR
Partly coated as well as rough concrete sur-
faces, wooden parquet and carpets generate
a cozy yet modern feeling. Similar non-slip

terraces.
In the sanitary areas porcelain stoneware, al-

painted parts with will offer a neat image. A
contemporary graphic layout of this material
combination is essential for the modern im-
pression.
A coherent mixture of lacquered, melamine

  • 7. CEO & Chief Designer Martin Steininger (48) is known for his minimalist designs with ‘cle- ar corners and sharp edges’. The designs and architectural voice / language of the highly qualified industrial designer are in high de- mand on the international stage, have won numerous awards and impress with their prominent, clear lines, their timelessness as well as their refined details. During the design process, he adheres to the principle of maximum simplification, mind you - in terms of form and not at all in terms of furnishing: he makes use of (rather)un- conventional materials such as stone, con- crete, aluminum or brass to accentuate the straightforward, at times almost archaic look of his creations. „Minimalism is by no means a passing fa- shion, it‘s an attitude! Good design is clear, subtle, timeless. Design needs to be visually appealing and perfectly combined with tech- nical excellence. My designs please, I take it for granted that they work, otherwise the product would not serve any purpose.“ CEO & Chief Designer Martin Steininger THE DESIGNER

Spangled between the depths of the North Atlantic and Florida‘s eastern coast, the Bahamas comprises more than 700 stunning subtropical islands and 2400 cays, most uninhabited, and all fringed by spectacular coral and fathomless ocean trenches. From the grit and bustle of funky Nassau to the vast mangroves of Andros, there‘s an as- tonishing array of beaches, reefs, forests and historic towns to be discovered, all within the compass of an hour‘s flight. The best kept secret of The Bahamas is the country’s sheer size and diversity. With 16 major islands, The Bahamas is an unmatched destination across 100,000 square miles of the world’s clearest ocean. The Bahamas have a popu- lation of about 400,000 people. Two thirds of the population live on the island of New Providence, where the capital city Nassau is located. ABOUT THE BAHAMAS 25

  • 13. There are more ‘Blue Holes’ in The Bahamas than anywhere else in the world, as well as the deepest Blue Hole on earth. From the surface, they can appear mythical, and in fact, Blue Holes feature in a number of Baha- mian marine legends. Exploring Blue Holes is a highlight of any diving excursion, where you may discover magnificent geological features like stalag- mites, sheer limestone walls and dazzling mineral formations that enhance the feeling of uncovering an underwater mystery and swimming back into prehistoric times. Un- like the blue hole in Belize, the blue hole in the Bahamas is right next to the shore. You can go from knee deep water on the shore to a sudden drop off of 663 ft. This is the spot many free divers choose when attemp- ting world records. On Andros Island you can marvel at some of the 180 amazing blue holes. BLUE HOLES

Its protected wetlands, now a vast national park, is home to the largest flamingo colony in the world. The dark pink coloration of their feathers are derived from their food source which comprises mainly of small crustaceans, algae brine flies and shrimp. These animals contain a pigment called carotenoid that the flamin- go is able to convert in their bodies to that pink and orange color on their feathers. In simple terms, a flamingo color is determined by its food. There are six different species of flamingo. The Caribbean flamingo, also called the American flamingo, is the only one found in The Bahamas. The islands are home to an enormous variety of resident bird species. There are about 370 bird species recorded in the Bahamas. FLAMINGOS 33
