Cognitive Dissonance <ul><li>Refers to the mental discomfort that people experience when trying to hold two or more contradictory beliefs at the same time. </li></ul>One example of when this can occur in the workplace involves a scenario during which an employees personal values are not congruent with ones upheld by the organization that they are working for

Managers must act as positive role models, especially in times of high stress.
