Getting a list of Keywords using Overture <ul><li>Go to Inventory.ocverture.com </li></ul><ul><li>Type your chosen keyword into the get suggestions box </li></ul><ul><li>The results gives you two column </li></ul><ul><li>The first column describes the number of searches </li></ul><ul><li>The second column describes the keyword/phrase searched for </li></ul><ul><li>Go trough the list and copy all phrases that apply to your keyword/idea </li></ul>

Getting a list of Keywords using Overture <ul><li>Next copy and search the subcategories for more keywords… </li></ul><ul><li>Goal one is to come up with as many keywords as possible, aim for 40+ as a minimum </li></ul><ul><li>Goal two is to come up with at least 10 product name keywords out of the list for domains selected </li></ul>

Demand <ul><li>The number beside the phrase column in Overture tool shows the demand for that keyword </li></ul><ul><li>Take a note of this number </li></ul><ul><li>Again, get as many phrases and numbers as you can 40+ for the keyword/phrase </li></ul><ul><li>Best to gather phrases with over 1000 searches </li></ul><ul><li>Use a spread sheet to for this. (create one for use) </li></ul>
  9. 9. Demand <ul><li>Googlekeywordtools </li></ul><ul><li>We have a training video on Keyword Research that covers this and other tools around keyword Broad & phase searches… </li></ul>

Competition <ul><li>Lets go to Google.com </li></ul><ul><li>In the search box type in the following phrase: (allintitle:&quot;yourphrase&quot;) </li></ul><ul><li>Replace the your phrase with your first keyword phrase from the Overture research and enter </li></ul><ul><li>check the number in the results for the search, </li></ul><ul><li>This type of search will only bring up the competition that use the exact phrase their title. </li></ul>

Competition <ul><li>So the allintitle tells us the number of sites using that phrase in the title of their site </li></ul><ul><li>This is then an indicator of how many sites are already using that phrase </li></ul><ul><li>We want to focus on the phrases that are less competitive but high search volume </li></ul>

Analyzing the results <ul><li>You should go through the list and highlight the phrases that fits the following criteria </li></ul><ul><li>25'000 monthly search volume Broad and Phrase match on google keywordtools </li></ul><ul><li>Less than 15,000 sites from the allintitle search </li></ul><ul><li>SOME INDUSTRIES WILL DIFFER SO YOU MAY WANT TO DO LESS THAN 20.000 SEARCHES ALLINTITLE… </li></ul>
  13. 13. Analyzing the results <ul><li>This type of research will give you the best phrases </li></ul><ul><li>Decide which of these phrases are best for your site </li></ul><ul><li>Check with cheap cheap domains for the keyword availability </li></ul>

Another way to research your keywords is via ebay <ul><li>Go to ebay.com (sign up if you don't have an buyers account) </li></ul><ul><li>Click on the advance search </li></ul><ul><li>Enter your keyword for your product idea </li></ul><ul><li>Check the &quot;completed listings only&quot; box </li></ul><ul><li>Click the search button </li></ul>

Another way to research your keywords is via ebay <ul><li>The results that come up show you what is selling on ebay </li></ul><ul><li>Look at the price in the list </li></ul><ul><li>The prices in green are the product that have been sold </li></ul><ul><li>The prices in red are items that have not been sold </li></ul><ul><li>Take note of what is selling and what's not selling </li></ul>
  16. 16. Another way to research your keywords is via ebay <ul><li>Is there is a good amount of your keyword/product being sold </li></ul><ul><li>This can indicate that is a good keyword/product </li></ul>
