Art One: Color and Design one semester one semester
Studio Art A semester long class, Generally with year long commitment Can be retaken three times (sophomore, junior, senior years)
Students were required to have completed Art I with B average. Most were familiar with me, the classroom, the structure of my classroom management. .
Day three: Packets with the most awesome assignments ever! ideas usually gleaned from my summer vacation…. EACH semester, assignments were compiled loosely around a basic outline: a. Two Major Content Projects b. Design Log Pages (approximately 10) c. Studio Artwork of Choice d. Participation in Minor Class Projects e. Community Service Project (one a semester) :
For Instance: Fall Quarter: Two Major Learning Projects 1. Abstract Expressionism 2. Pop Art- Ala Edward Ruscha Design Log Pages 1. Abs. Exp. Thumbnail Page, including notes 2. Ruscha Thumbnail Page, including notes 3. Experimental Materials Page 4. Five Layer Page 5. Popcorn, white drawing on black tempera 6. Artist Page (there are always TWO of these) 7. Black page: Black on black on black Etcetera Studio Work of Choice Significant work, or several small pieces Participation in Small Class Projects Community Service The Bain of Art Teachers Learning to Share Art for MANY reasons!
