National HIV/AIDS Strategy (NHAS) Goals (1)
Reduce new HIV infections
Support HIV testing for over 58,000 high-risk individuals
annually
Work with partners to distribute 10 million condoms annually
Implement on-line services to facilitate the identification of
partners of newly diagnosed HIV cases
Work with hospitals, medical schools and physician residency
programs to encourage integration of opt-out testing in
protocols and curricula
Support partner agencies in the distribution of over three
million syringes, in conjunction with prevention education
information, to injection drug users

Increase access to care and improve health
outcomes for people living with HIV
Lead efforts and develop partnerships/collaborations to expand
linkage to care for HIV-positive individuals currently not in care
Link 80% of individuals who were previously HIV-positive and
newly diagnosed with syphilis to care within 90 days of
diagnosis
Promote integration of hepatitis, tuberculosis, and STI testing
for HIV infected persons
Implement the Get Real, Get Care campaign to promote linkage
to care for persons newly diagnosed with HIV
