Talent Management and spotting
“KIOO CHA JAMII LIMITED”
KIOO CHA JAMII LIMITED is a talent management and spotting business idea and initiative
that seeks to provide opportunities for the younger generation of East Africa. What we are
aiming to be is to be the middlemen between these younger talented inexperienced individuals to
the world; what we will do is support them and help them grow their talent. We will not only be
limited to the entertainment sector of talent management, we will also look at the sport
management sector of entertainment; so in spite of their talent albeit football, swimming,
basketball, singing, dancing etc.; we will support them.
We firmly believe that there is talent in Africa and our goal is to shine a light on it, the only
difference between us and the western world is that we are not as exposed but nonetheless we are
all humans and we firmly believe that “whatever the western world can do, we can do
better”.
Our goal is not only to discover talent in East Africa but after it has been discovered we will
make sure that the individual gets the best care possible from the people around him/her namely
agents; we will provide agents for our more progressive clients who show the ability to branch
and be bigger than just a star in East Africa.
It should also be pointed out that we not only plan to work in East Africa; we plan to expand to
further parts of Africa if our initiative enjoys the success we predict it will the same applies for
our sports sector as we will first concentrate on the entertainment sector of showbiz. Another
thing that should be mentioned is that for our first year and the rest of the years that follow we
will start a live TV show for the showbiz sector of the initiative which will target all the
entertainers in East Africa which range from comedians, singers, actors, sword eaters, fire
breather etc. Anyone who thinks that they have a talent will be welcomed. The show will be
called “YES AFRICA, We have Talent”
The auditions will be held in Kampala, Dar-es-salaam and Nairobi for a week each after
that the best candidates will be chosen and they will progress to where the show will be
televisedwhich will be in Tanzania.
THE SETUP
The Pitchening
This is the part where by we will have to let a producer know about the availability of our show,
the producer will then go to a studio and let them know about the show then then studio will
have to find us a network.
The Notening
This is the part where there will be a tussle of notes between us and the studios and networks as
everyone will have notes.
The Outlining
This is the part where people pitch the studios and the networks then when the pitches have been
accepted, they get refined into outlines.
The scripting
There will come a time when networks start to order the pilot scripts for our show after that is
done we will get more notes from the network and studios in which we will have to provide a
revised draft.
The Terminology
This is the part where the network decides whether they will put us on air or not. It is a known
fact that even if a network agrees to review scripts; there is no guarantee that the show will be
launched on air. Below are terms networks uses
“Put Pilot Commitment”
This means that the network promises to film the plot unless the script proves unfilm able.
“Script order with penalty”
The network promises to order the script and whether they get it or not; producers end up getting
a seven figure sum.
“Pilot Order”
The network orders the filming of the pilot scene probably after assessing the script.
“Direct to series order”
The network will order the production of a number of episodes.
The Casting process
This is the processes of gathering actors for the show.
The Filmening
This is the time where editors do their work.
The Upfrontening
This is when the networks announce the show to advertisers.
The staffening
This is the recruitment of writers for the shows.
Target Market
The target market for our idea will be the young and ambitious individuals of Africa those who
believe that they are very good at what they do and they are ready to show the world what they
are capable of. We firmly believe that our show “YES AFRICA, We have Talent” will be a
big step towards making this happen as it will firstly
 make people aware that we exist
 make people interested in our service
 attract clients
The reason why we firmly believe that this idea will be a success is because the market we are
about enter is a niche market; which means that it is a market that is untested. There have been
projects similar to our project but none as big and collectively built the way ours is. Other
projects similar to ours don’t look at this project as a chance for the world to recognize a nation
but as a chance for the people in their countries recognize that there is talent. However what we
are aiming to do is to expose Africa talent to the world that is why we are first targeting East
Africa as a whole.
What makes our initiative so unique is the range of competition that we will offer the people of
East Africa, the opportunities that we will provide for them after, the exposure we will offer
them etc.
In relation to our sports management sector of our business we are targeting youth that range
from ages 7 and above. No matter what sport they do; our job will be to represent them and help
their talent reach their maximum potential however the commencement of our sports
management sector will depend on how much success we will enjoy with the launch of our show
as it will help fund the start of the sports management sector.

 RADIO STATIONS
 SOCIAL NETWORKS
 PERSONAL WEBSITE
TV ADS
In the eastern part of Africa a lot of people who live in the area have access to television; so
broadcasting the advertisement on live television would help make our service more aware to
customers.
Posters
These are pieces of paper otherwise known as fliers that can make our service more available by
portraying our service through the use of pictures and logos.
Billboards
These are huge platforms usually placed on the side of the roads to make people more aware of
the product or service on offer.
Radio Stations
This is a broadcasting organization used to make people more aware of the events happening in a
country.
Social Networks
This is a network of social interactions and personal relationships that can be used to market a
business e.g. Facebook.
Personal Website
This is the digital information platform that will have key information about the business.
Competitive advantages
SCARCITY
We believe that we have an advantage in the market because of the fact that there is no business
idea that is similar or has ever been a business idea like this in the eastern part of Africa; it will
be something new that will captivate the customers.
“FREE TO SIGN UP”
The facts that signing up for this project is free will definitely attract potential suitors who want
to be recognized for their talent. We aim to profit from us representing them.
WE ARE TARGETING EAST AFRICA
Other business that are similar to ours tend to only target their countries of residence where as in
our case; we are targeting the whole of East Africa; this will give us a bigger pool of talent to
work with and make us more exposed.
