Project & Portfolio I: Week 1
February 3rd, 2022
My name is Channing Spears, and I grew up in Dallas, Texas and
currently live in New York City.
Growing up, I fell in love with competitive cheerleading which
ultimately showed me that if you work hard for the things you want,
your hard work will pay off. Cheerleading has many aspects, but
what sets you apart in the industry is your attention to detail. Every
team I competed against was doing pretty much the same thing we
were, but who paid closer attention to the details? Other valuable
skills I’ve carried with me is how to be a leader and how to work as a
team, because life is hardly ever a one man show. Being able to
connect with others and motivate them to work together to
accomplish something you couldn’t do alone is incredibly
empowering. In my final years of cheerleading, me and my team
were invited to the world’s competition held at ESPN Wide Worlds of
Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida. We ended up winning 3 rings
out of the 4 times we competed. These memories drive me every
day to achieve the goals I’ve set for myself. I am passionate about
encouraging myself and others to be our most authentic selves and
to aggressively chase after the thing you want. I take pride in my
student mentality because there is always more to be learned no
matter what stage in life we are.

  • 1. PERSONAL BRAND EXPLORATION Channing Spears Project & Portfolio I: Week 1 February 3rd, 2022
  • 2. My name is Channing Spears, and I grew up in Dallas, Texas and currently live in New York City. Growing up, I fell in love with competitive cheerleading which ultimately showed me that if you work hard for the things you want, your hard work will pay off. Cheerleading has many aspects, but what sets you apart in the industry is your attention to detail. Every team I competed against was doing pretty much the same thing we were, but who paid closer attention to the details? Other valuable skills I’ve carried with me is how to be a leader and how to work as a team, because life is hardly ever a one man show. Being able to connect with others and motivate them to work together to accomplish something you couldn’t do alone is incredibly empowering. In my final years of cheerleading, me and my team were invited to the world’s competition held at ESPN Wide Worlds of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida. We ended up winning 3 rings out of the 4 times we competed. These memories drive me every day to achieve the goals I’ve set for myself. I am passionate about encouraging myself and others to be our most authentic selves and to aggressively chase after the thing you want.
