  3. 3. • Installing Docker on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS Xenial • The Docker engine is only suitable for the 64bit operating system • Make sure that the machine's CPU supports virtualization technology and virtualization support is enabled in BIOS
  4. 4. 1. sudo apt update 2. ADD KEY for our Docker sudoapt-keyadv--keyserverhkp://p80.pool.sks-keyservers.net:80-- recv-keys 58118E89F3A912897C070ADBF76221572C52609D
  5. 5. 3. Key is added in machine, add the repository source to apt source list sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list.d/docker.list add the following line this deb https://apt.dockerproject.org/repo ubuntu-xenial main Save and exit

  7. 7. 5. Install Linux kernels sudo apt-get install linux-image-extra-$(uname -r)

  9. 9. 7. Install Official Docker Script to install the latest Docker Engine wget -qO- https://get.docker.com/ | sh if no wget then install wget by running this code sudo apt-get install wget
  10. 10. 8. Add User to Docker Group In this case it is Cybrosys usermod -aG docker <user> eg: usermod -aG docker cybrosys
  11. 11. 9. Starting docker sudo systemctl start docker
  12. 12. 10. Running docker sudo docker run hello-world
  13. 13. 11. Stop Docker sudo docker stop <process id> To get the process id run the following command docker ps -a • We successfully installed Docker on Ubuntu system and now going to setup odoo using the Docker • We need two containers, one for database and one for odoo
  14. 14. 12. Run the following command to pull postgres and creates user sudo docker run -d -e POSTGRES_USER=odoo -e POSTGRES_USER=odoo -- name db postgres
  15. 15. 13. Run the following command to pull odoo and it creates an instance After this command, you can see the service is running on port 8069 sudo docker run -p 0.0.0.0:8069:8069 --name odoo --link db:db -t odoo After this command, you can see that the odoo server is running on 0.0.0.0:8086
  16. 16. 14. To stop/start odoo service sudo docker start/stop odoo
