Configuring Route and Rule in Odoo 15

  2. INTRODUCTION ❖ In inventory management, the supply chain strategy determines when products should be fabricated, delivered to distribution centers, and made available in the retail channel. ❖ This kind of strategic process can be configured using Routes, featuring Pull and Push Rules. Once everything is properly configured, the inventory app can automatically generate transfers following the instructions given by the rules. ❖ Since Routes are a collection of Push and Pull Rules, Odoo helps you manage advanced routes configuration such as: ○ - Manage product manufacturing chains ○ - Manage default locations per product ○ - Define routes within your warehouse according to business needs, such as quality control, after-sales services, or supplier returns ○ - Help rental management by generating automated return moves for rented products.
  3. ❖ To access this go to Inventory > Configuration > Settings
  4. ❖ In the Inventory Settings window, under the Warehouse section you can view the Multi-step Routes functionality. Enable it and SAVE your changes.
  5. ❖ After enabling we will get two menus under configuration, Routes and Rules.
  6. ❖ Goto Configuration > Warehouses
  7. ❖ Here set outgoing and incoming shipments as below. And click on Routes smart button.
  8. ❖ Here we get available routes for this warehouse and also can create a new one.
  9. ❖ Specify the Route and Company name in the given fields. Later, you can select the places where you want to apply this route such as Products, Product Categories, Packaging, Warehouse, and Sales Order Lines. ❖ In order to set rules for the route, you can find a ‘Add a Line’ button under the Rules tab. By clicking on this button, a new pop-up window will appear to add details about the new rule
  10. ❖ On this page, you can specify the Name of the rule, Action, Operation Type, Source Location, Destination Location, and Applicability. ❖ You can add rules to a particular route by clicking on the ‘Save & New’ button. You can save the new route and use this in the product description while configuring new products.
  11. ❖ You can add the Name of the rule in the form and specify the Action type from the given list. The Pull From action can be used to pull a product from another location. ❖ Pull To action is defined to pull the products to some other locations. The manufacture Rule can be used for manufacturing products and Buy rule is considered for purchasing the products from vendors. ❖ Similarly, mention the Operation Type, Source Location, and Destination Location in the specified fields. ❖ You can select a particular Route and Company to apply this rule. After completing the fields, you can click on the ‘Save’ button to save the new rule.
  12. ❖ Now let’s create a new rule, Specify the route name, warehouses etc. and for adding rules click on Add a line
  13. ❖ Enter the source and destination location, operation type, action etc > SAVE & CLOSE.
  14. ❖ Now save the new route by clicking SAVE button.
  15. ❖ Now let’s goto Products > Products.
  16. ❖ Under inventory tab choose Refrigerate as a route and SAVE your changes.
  17. ❖ Now let’s create a purchase order by CREATE button.
  18. ❖ Now come to the purchase order you can create bill for the purchase order created and make the payment.
  19. ❖ Now receive your products.
  20. ❖ So the destination location is wh/stock so when ever this products comes under this location it will be moved to the refrigerator after validation by Refrigerate route.
  21. ❖ Coming to the inventory module from dashboard internal transfers we can see that there is a 1 transfer to process. Click on that.
  22. ❖ So we have manually validate this transfer by VALIDATE button.
  23. ❖ We can also done this automatically by setting Automatic Move as automatic.
  24. ❖ Now create a purchase order and CONFIRM.
  25. ❖ So receive your products and VALIDATE the picking.
  26. ❖ Here we can see that there is no internal transfer is to process.
  27. ❖ To check let’s go to Reporting > Product Moves.
  28. ❖ Here we will get newly created move for 10 units.
