INTRODUCTION
❖ Managing budgets is an essential part of running a business.
❖ Budgets help people become more intentional with the way money is spent and direct people to
organize and prioritize their work to meet financial goals.
❖ They allow you to plan your desired financial outcome and then measure your actual performance
against the plan.
❖ Odoo manages budgets using both General and Analytic Accounts.

❖ Goto Accounting > Configuration > Settings
❖ Activate Budget Management and Analytic Accounting and Analytic Tags

❖ Goto Accounting > Budgets
❖ Click on Create

❖ See budgetary position of research income

❖ See budgetary position of research costs

❖ Goto Customers > Invoices
❖ Click on Create

❖ Product Sales account we have added inside the budgetary position research income.
❖ Click on Confirm

❖ Goto Accounting > Budgets
❖ See the practical amount is updated

❖ Goto Customers > Invoices
❖ Click on Create
❖ Click on Confirm

❖ Goto Accounting > Budgets
❖ See the practical amount is updated
❖ Click on Entries

❖ View all the journal items related to that budget line

❖ Goto Vendors > Bills
❖ Click on Create

❖ Salary Expense account we have added inside the budgetary position research expense.
❖ Click on Confirm

❖ Goto Accounting > Budgets
❖ See the practical amount is updated
❖ Click on Entries

❖ View all the journal items related to that budget line

❖ Go back to budget
❖ Click on Add a Line
❖ If you are recording a cost we need to specify negative amount.

❖ Goto Customers > Invoices
❖ Click on Create
❖ Choose analytic account
❖ Click on Confirm

❖ Goto Accounting > Budgets
❖ See the practical amount is updated
❖ Click on Entries

❖ See Analytic Items

❖ Goto Reporting > Budgets Analysis
❖ Budget analysis report generate the summarise report that compares budget amount to actual
expenses and revenue activity to during period.
❖ Different views of budget analysis report are,
1. List
❖ Filter and group by budget analysis report

2.Pivot
❖ Click on Insert in Spreadsheet

3.Graph - Bar Chart

❖ Various measures and favourite for budget analysis report
