1. 1. ‘PLAYGROUND’
By: Bianca Goldman,ElysiaPolin and Catrin George-Carey
2. 2. Scene 1: Ext Daytime,‘The School Playground’
A teenager named "SCARLET” (19) is seen sitting in the middle of an emptyschool playground. She has short blonde hair which hasbeen tangled and therefore covers the majority of her face. Scarletis slim and long looking girl and is wearing plain dark clothes. Her pale face is covered in several bruises and stains of blood. Her face looks far away almost as though she were dreaming. However she looks troubled and as though she was in great danger.
We hear operatic chamber like music as we are shown different angles of Scarlet sitting in the middle of the playground. The weather is gloomy which reinforce the feeling of danger.
3. 3. Scene 2: INT Daytime,
‘The School Classroom’
A school teacher named ‘MR PHILIPS’ (49) is standing in front of a classroom full of students. There is a blackboard behind him in which there is a spider diagram centered around the word ‘drugs’. He is medium height and is wearing a dark coloured shirt with jeans. He wears glasses and has Grey hair.
SCARLET is sitting at a desk directly opposite ‘MR PHILIPS’ next to two other girls either side of her. Scarlet’s short blonde hair is neat and pretty and she is wearing a pink top with several pieces of jewelery. The other two girls are wearing slightly darker colours making Scarlet stand out. The three girls are whispering and laughing- clearly not paying attention to the class.
4. 4. Script
MR PHILIPS: “Scarlet?”
SCARLET: “What?”
MR PHILIPS: “Scarlet could you please repeat for me what I was just saying to the rest of the class?”
SCARLET: ‘’Oh… was it something about you taking drugs…you know round the back of the School?”
The school bell rings and the students begin to pack away their belongings. MR Philips looks surprisingly unaffected by what Scarlet had just said in fact he has hints of a smirk on his face.
MR PHILIPS: “Scarlet detention 12.30 ye? Cool see you then.’
MR Philips winks at Scarlet. We hear a rock song begin to play as we see the students exit the classroom. The scene fades to black and the title of film ‘Playground’ is shown on the screen in a child like white font on a black background.
