Flagler College: Social Media, Meet Site Design

SOCIAL MEDIA,
MEET SITE DESIGN
The distinctive style of social media
channels like Instagram and Snapchat is
now inspiring higher-ed sites. At iFactory,
we made the most of Flagler College’s
social media presence to tell the story of
student achievement … while shaking up
our own design process along the way.
Flagler’s breathtaking official Instagram account and student-
created content inspired the new site’s aesthetic.
THE SOLUTION
INSTAGRAM-INSPIRED CREATIVITY +
USER-GENERATED CONTENT
A UNIFIED VOICE ACROSS CHANNELS
STARTING AT HOME
Instead of creating wireframes as a batch and the designs as a
batch, we adapted our process to start with the home screen first–
creating the design, wireframe, and page content all at once.
Once the home page was approved, we moved forward with the
rest of the pages.
The new site design allowed for a seamless and coherent
flow between flagler.edu and their social media properties.
THE CHALLENGE
WORKING FROM STRENGTHS
Flagler College is a small, private four-year liberal arts
college in St. Augustine, Florida. They partnered with iFactory
to implement a website with a distinct, youthful personality
that captured the essence of St. Augustine and Flagler’s unique
360-degree education.
The redesign was led by emphasizing the institution’s strengths --
combining student achievement with a vibrant social media
presence to create a web experience that is both immersive for
prospective students and authentic to the school.
THE RESULTS
A COLLABORATION THAT PAYS OFF
Launch date: July 2018
If you want to work with talented
and caring individuals who
know that the end result is not
only a reflection of their brand,
but yours as well, then choose
iFactory. They will truly be your
partner throughout the entire
redesign process.”
