  2. 2. When did it happen?<br />As many as 400 individual fires were recorded on 7 February. Following the events of the 7th of February 2009, that date has since been referred to as Black Saturday.<br />
  3. 3. Why did it happen?<br />The majority of the fires were ignited by fallen or clashing power lines or were deliberately lit. Other suspected ignition sources include lightning cigarette butts, and sparks from a power tool, the large drought may have played a part as well.<br />

  6. 6. How many Koalas<br />/cattle got killed?<br />Over 11,000 livestock killed or injured <br />A lot of koalas died including Sam the bushfire koala in picture that got put down, he symbolised hope for people to live.<br />
