HPE InfoSight for 3PAR StoreServ We continue to add new enhancements and are excited to share them with you and hear your feedback! – Getting Started – This guide will help with the basics of logging into the portal for the first time, configuring and verifying your HPE Passport account, registering your systems, inviting your colleagues and partners to share access, using the portal’s context sensitive help, and engaging with our Portal Support team for any questions, comments, feedback or issues you have when exploring the portal. – About the ~24-48 hour lag – In addition to registration processing, most all system details exposed in the portal (with the exception of VMware performance which is processed every 1-3 hours) are lagged about 1-2 days from the point of collection. See the “Last Update” for the last data point we processed for a given system. – Context-sensitive Help – Look for icons and select them to expose the help topic – Our help system is searchable, just type Search dialog to find related topics. – Resources > HPE InfoSight Portal Support – If you have any questions, or encounter any issues while using the portal – Please click on the embedded links to engage our Portal Support team – Using these links will provide us with your detailed user profile information, this debug info will assure our team can resolve any inquiries quickly – Please do not engage HPE Support (CSC) for HPE InfoSight Portal Support – Please do not use HPE Support Center to “open a support case for your device” for assistance with HPE InfoSight as these teams do not provide support for the HPE InfoSight portal – Our on-line help will guide you to use HPE Support if needed when you have an issue specific to your Storage System that requires attention or support intervention – The Portal Support team may guide you to contact HPE Support if you are having issues with your system’s remote connectivity (call home) 2 Welcome to the HPE InfoSight Portal!

HPE InfoSight for 3PAR StoreServ Global Visibility Requirements HPE InfoSight supports ALL 3PAR StoreServ models and OS versions! – 3PAR StoreServ F/T/V/7xx0/8xx0/9xx0/10xx0 & 20xx0 Series Storage Systems – Minimum 3PAR OS version 2.2.x – Minimum 3PAR SP version 2.4.x – Systems must be configured for call home to HPE 3PAR Central – System must be calling home regularly and reliably – We do not claim support for “darksites”, systems using manual file transfer or optional SP “scrubbing” today – Current/Valid System Entitlement (Support Contract) – Minimum Foundation Care support contract provides all standard portal capabilities – Proactive Care (or better) support contract required for subscription to Wellness Status & Summary email notifications 6

HPE InfoSight for 3PAR StoreServ 30 Day Trial All systems with Hardware Warranty only, or Foundation Care support contracts will automatically receive a 30-Day Trial upon initial registration – Provides an opportunity for the customer to acquire, renew or upgrade their support contract while using the portal with full capabilities – Provides the user time to work with the Services360 team to address any entitlement issues – When the 30-Day Trial expires, details for systems under Hardware Warranty only will no longer be exposed for reporting – Systems with Foundation Care entitlement will continue to see all system details, but will no longer receive Wellness Status & Summary email notifications – Verify entitlement is registered properly (SN is linked to the SAID) via HPE Support Center Warranty Check 7

HPE InfoSight for 3PAR StoreServ HPE Partners & Nimble Resellers HPE Partners & Nimble Resellers – 3PAR StoreServ – Please have your customers login to the portal and follow the prompts to register their systems – You customer can use Settings > System Group Access to send an invitation to your HPE Passport email address, upon accepting the invitation you will be able to see the systems in their System Group – Nimble Storage – Please have your customers login and use Settings > Permissions to invite your HPE Passport email to access their Nimble Storage systems. Please assure that email addresses are entered entirely in lowercase characters. – Or use Settings > Permissions to “Request New Permission” for a specific SN. The customer will have the option to allow or deny your access request. – Partner owned 3PAR Lab/Demo Systems – Please contact HPE InfoSight Portal Support to request a ”whitelist” for your 3PAR lab/demo systems without active entitlement, allowing these systems to be exposed in the portal for test and demonstration purposes. Please provide the SN of the system(s) in your request – HPE Partners requiring access to Nimble Systems and menu navigation options via HPE InfoSight – Please email PartnerAccess.HPEInfosight@HPE.com to register as a Nimble Reseller 8

Login & Verify Go to: infosight.hpe.com Login with HPE Passport and verify your email address to gain access to the HPE InfoSight portal Register Your Systems Follow the prompt to Register Systems Create a single System Group to contain all of your companies systems Place the Registration Token Copy and place the registration token on each HPE 3PAR StoreServ, StoreOnce & RMC system via the device management console Please Wait… Registration processing will usually take 24-48 hours before the systems details will be exposed in the portal Send Invitations Use System Group Access to invite to your colleagues & HPE Partners. Create a System Group & Register Your Systems Create a System Group to contain all of your companies 3PAR StoreServ/StoreOnce/RMC storage systems Copy the System Group registration token and follow the steps to place the token on each system Registration processing takes 1-2 days before the systems will be exposed in the portal 14

We need only a read-only user. Our collection is via lightweight API calls on :443 optimized to avoid an impact to the vCenter server Confirm files are flowing home Check the SP logs for the daily VMCOLLEC and hourly VMPERFCO file creation and transfer to HPE 3PAR Central Please wait… Processing usually takes ~1-3 hours before VM Details will be exposed.   45. 45. 3PAR Service Processor 5.0 (MU3) Remote Device Access (RDA) Changing from SSA to RDA Switching between SSA (Axeda) and RDA (Domino) is required for upgraded environments and only supported using the hpesupport or hpepartner login – The customer admin user has access to hpepartner user Configuration settings are found under the Support section of the Service Processor Settings page 1. Login in to SSSC as hpepartner or hpesupport 2. Go to the 3PAR Service Console Menu 3. Select Service Processor 4. Go to the Actions Menu 5. Select Edit SP configuration 6. Select or scroll to the Support section 7. Select RDA and choose OK 45

In the Edit System wizard select VMware Integration 5. Choose Add vCenter to configure one or more vCenter instances that hosts VMs on 3PAR StoreServ 6. Click Add and then OK to save the vCenter configuration 7. Connectivity is checked when the configuration is saved, and monitored every 30 minutes Note: It will usually take 1-3 hours before the VMware Details navigation will be exposed in HPE InfoSight for this system 47 VMware Integration

HPE InfoSight for 3PAR – Depending on the tab selected at the Virtualization menu level there will be different View menus displayed – For different View menus a scope may need to be selected (lower right side screenshot). Under the vCenter instance, select Datastore, Host or Cluster – For example, in order to see a CPU Contention Trend chart a host needs to be selected from the list of available hosts in the data center – Explore the different charts and views 54 Cross-stack Analytics for VMware Overview

Noisy Neighbors – Quickly assess the performance of VMs that are using the same datastore as the selected VM, and understand if resource contention from other VMs is potentially effecting performance – Instantly identify specific VMs within datastores that are experiencing higher than acceptable latency as well as which datastores and VMs are the busiest (I/Os) within the virtual environment. Quickly drill down into the details of each specific object (datastore or VM) to determine root cause of issues. – Neighboring VMs are VMs that have one or more virtual disks that reside on the same datastore as the selected VM – Size of rectangle represents the number of IOPS to the datastore or VM over the last 24 hours. – Color represents the average latency 55
