It has to ‘look’ right. • Everything needs to be clean, neat, and professional • Hiring manager has 2 questions: 1. Can they do the job, and will they do the job? 2.   21. 21. Q&A In your career path, who has influenced you and been a mentor? Jessica • Early on learned more from bad managers than good managers. • Learned what not to do • 5 years into career applied for job was overqualified for. Didn’t get the job, but the women that did became a mentor. • Someone to listen to and learn from. JP • Early on learned from the lousy bosses. • Supported a lot of managers, and used own background in business to form a collaborative relationship with them to understand what they needed.
