Editor's Notes
The lectures come from 9 Nobel prize winner 141 members of the IOM or NAS. We have lectures from the former US Surgeon General, the former head of the CDC, the current head of the NIH, Ministers of health, etc.
We believe that a single lecture of constructed correctly, translated and distribute world wide to teachers could teach over a million students.
Recently Drs. LaPorte, Cerf, Serageldin, Omenn and Linkov published in Science an article arguing that the Supercourse Model should apply to all of science. We are in the process of building a Library of Alexandria Supercourse. We will build a network in all fields of sciences, establish a system of lecture web-based quality control, established mirrored servers and disseminate lectures world wide. Dr. Serageldin has a Youtube video describing the Library of Alexandria Scientific Supercourse.
The concept of the Supercourse is simple To improve the teaching of science by sharing the best lectures of you, I, and the world’s scientist. The concept is that of the science of translation from research to the classroom..
The current Science Supercourse is designed to expand beyond the topics of Health and Preventive Medicine, to encompass other areas of science, namely Environment, Agriculture and Computer Engineering in addition to Public Health.
