  2. 2. Sedona <ul><li>There are many ways of coping with anxiety attacks. One of the most effective I’ve found is to use a method called ‘Sedona’ </li></ul>
  3. 3. What Is Sedona? <ul><li>Sedona is a method of letting go of inner turmoil and bringing your body back to equilibrium </li></ul>
  4. 4. What Is Sedona? <ul><li>The method was created in 1952 by the physicist Lester Levenson and is still being used today </li></ul>
  5. 5. What Is Sedona? <ul><li>Lester realised we are not tied to our emotions </li></ul><ul><li>We have the ability to let our emotions go…just like dropping a pen </li></ul>
  6. 6. Using Sedona To Manage Anxiety <ul><li>When you understand what triggers your anxiety eg: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Driving in heavy traffic </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Public speaking </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Exam nerves… </li></ul></ul>

  9. 9. Using Sedona To Manage Anxiety <ul><li>Acknowledge the feeling fully </li></ul><ul><li>Then, ask yourself the question: Can I allow this feeling of anxiety? </li></ul>
  10. 10. Using Sedona To Manage Anxiety <ul><li>The next question to ask yourself is: Can I welcome this feeling? </li></ul><ul><li>The next is: Can I release and let this feeling go? </li></ul>
  11. 11. Using Sedona To Manage Anxiety <ul><li>Then ask yourself: Will I release this feeling? </li></ul><ul><li>The final question is: When will I release this feeling? </li></ul>
  12. 12. Using Sedona To Manage Anxiety <ul><li>If you’re happy to release immediately, breathe in deeply, breathe out slowly, relax your body and feel the emotion slowly dissipate </li></ul>
  13. 13. Using Sedona To Manage Anxiety <ul><li>If you can’t let go, there could be a reason for you hanging on to the feeling </li></ul>
  14. 14. Using Sedona To Manage Anxiety <ul><li>This could be self preservation for instance </li></ul><ul><li>In this case come back to the emotion and release on it at a time when you’re ready </li></ul>
  15. 15. Practice <ul><li>Practise this technique many times a day to become good at it </li></ul><ul><li>Release on all emotions regularly not just your anxiety </li></ul>
