  9. 9. Prime Day Sales Forecasting ● Prime Day out performs both Black Friday and Cyber Monday. ● Only on the days just before Christmas does Amazon see higher sales. ● Amazon sellers also experience an uptick in sales in the weeks leading up to and after Prime Day.

Amazon FBA Sellers: Prime Day Winners ● Amazon FBA Sellers see nearly a 200% increase in sales on Prime Day. ● Following Prime Day, Amazon FBA sellers also experience a 16% increase in sales through the month of July. ● Amazon performs second best with a 51% increase in sales on Prime Day and 32% increase after.

Traditional FBA Seller Categories Do Best ● Kitchen & Dining, a popular Amazon FBA Seller category, performs best, showing an increase of 225% in sales. ● Interestingly, Office Products do 3rd best on Prime Day, but experience the largest post-Prime Day hike of all the product categories. ● Nearly all of the product categories experience a sales increase following Prime Day, with the exception of Patio, Lawn, & Garden which stays relatively the same.

Prepare for a 2.5x increase in sales on Prime Day and a 0.25x increase in sales following Prime Day Estimate your sales based on category. For example, if you sell in Kitchen & Dining expect higher sales on Prime Day
  13. 13. PART TWO: Prime Day Inventory Management Do you have enough inventory in stock? If not, how can you prepare? What happens if you run out of inventory?
  14. 14. How to Manage Your Inventory 1. Check your inventory levels now. 2. Even if you don’t have time to place an order before Prime Day, consider placing an order to cover your inventory for Q3 and early Q4. 3. Expect to sell 10-15% more inventory in July than the average month due to Prime Day. Inventory Management Tips
  15. 15. “What Happens If I Run Out of Inventory?” Hijackers take advantage of listings that do not have a seller present. You will miss out on sales. Prime Day has higher conversion rates, too, which means more profit on average is lost. Running out of inventory could lose your product its organic ranking. In addition, the removal of your listing could hurt conversion rates over time.

  17. 17. Prime Day Promotions Data ● Prime Day Promotions are nearly double what they are on Cyber Monday. ● And Prime Day Promotions are close to four times what they are on an average selling day.
  18. 18. Prepare to Spend More on Ads and Promotions Adjust your advertising budgets upward. Often, sellers end up running out of PPC budgets by the middle of the day and miss out on sales. Make sure your bid rates are strong. You may even up your bid rates a little in anticipation of Prime Day.
