CMPRO Fast Task: Return a Record to Initial Step with a Message
• Return is the process of sending a workflow record back to a previous
workflow step in its route.
• Records can be returned if:
• The record is open but not on the first step.
• You are the current workflow owner and have Return permissions
for the current step or are an Administrator.
• All return checklists have been completed (PWE routes).
Scenario: Return Record to Initial Step with Message

The icon to the left of the record number is the link to the record (top screen). Owner of workflow record with Return permissions
for the current step, and Administrators can perform Return action (bottom screen).
Select Step; Add Message (Message optional)
Upon selecting the Step (top screen), the Return tab displays (bottom screen). The name of the person, who
signed-off the record at selected step, auto-populates in Recipient field. However, a different user can be
selected from the recipient list.
The recipient for return step will auto-display in the To: field on Message tab.
Complete the Return Action
Fields highlighted in yellow are required fields.

The Owner, Step and Process fields confirm the completed Return action. An e-mail notification will be sent to
the recipient informing them that the record has been returned, and is now in their work queue.
