  1. 1. Now the Passover of the Jews was at hand,and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. And Hefound in the temple those who sold oxen andsheep and doves, and the money changersdoing business. When He had made a whip ofcords, He drove them all out of the temple,with the sheep and the oxen, and poured outthe changers’ money and overturned thetables. And He said to those who sold doves,

Do not make MyFather’s house a house of merchandise!”Then His disciples remembered that it waswritten, “Zeal for Your house has eaten Meup.” So the Jews answered and said to Him,“What sign do You show to us, since You dothese things?” Jesus answered and said tothem, “Destroy this temple, and in three daysI will raise it up.”
  3. 3. Then the Jews said, “It has taken forty-sixyears to build this temple, and will You raise itup in three days?” But He was speaking of thetemple of His body. Therefore, when He hadrisen from the dead, His disciplesremembered that He had said this to them;and they believed the Scripture and the wordwhich Jesus had said. John 2:13-22
