  2. 2. Interest <ul><li>It is something that I can relate to. </li></ul><ul><li>There are always different studies being done on this topic. </li></ul>
  3. 3. Topic <ul><li>The positive and negative effects of media on children. </li></ul>
  4. 4. Driving Question <ul><li>What are some of the various outcomes that result from the negative and positive influences of the media? </li></ul>
  5. 5. Thesis Statement <ul><li>The media can shape beliefs, form opinions on subjects, and teach certain behaviors which influence children negatively and positively in many ways. </li></ul>
  6. 6. Important Facts <ul><li>Some prominent forms of media in the world today include television, movies, video games, and the internet. </li></ul><ul><li>The number one form of media most children are exposed to is television. </li></ul><ul><li>When children are exposed to media violence, these children may have criminal or violent tendencies later in life. </li></ul><ul><li>Media resources help students stay informed on important subjects and connects them to the world outside their own lives. </li></ul><ul><li>Mass media has the power to provide experiences on various cultures and ethnicities.  </li></ul>
  7. 7. Product <ul><li>Created and planned a children’s book which included my information. </li></ul><ul><li>Presented this book to an elementary school class. </li></ul><ul><li>Did not have a mentor. </li></ul>

How and When <ul><li>Worked an hour every day for a week; 2 hours Friday through Sunday. </li></ul><ul><li>Wrote drafts of the story. </li></ul><ul><li>Drew pictures for each page. </li></ul><ul><li>Laminated and bound the book. </li></ul><ul><li>Went to an elementary school at the end of the week and read and discussed the story. </li></ul>
