Cis 516 OpManage

  1. 1. CIS 516 OpManager software By Chris Morgan
  2. 2. Upon launching of the software you first need to login. Notice the note: First time users the username is admin and the password is admin.
  3. 3. Next step starts the discovery wizard.
  4. 4. You are asked to define the SNMP version and community names to use on your network.
  5. 5. You are next asked to define what services you are using on your network. I picked all of them as I do not know what is running on my home PC’s.
  6. 6. Now you need to define the IP addresses you want to scan. I chose to go by CIDR, due to the fact that when I chose to go by address range, it would not let me enter .168 as the second octet.
  7. 7. Now the discovery is in process. This process took a long time on my network although I had only 2 devices found. I guess cause I told it to discover all services. I finally had to close and re-open the window.
  8. 8. After discovery is finished you get a screen like the one below. It has 3 different views: Overview, Network, Servers
  9. 9. Across the top of the menu you have choices such as maps, alarms, admin, reports (shown below) and support
