Background • Indonesia has committed to reduce its GHG emissions as much as 26% by 2020, and 29% by 2030 compared to BAU scenario • FREL 2016 was set at 0.57 Gt CO2e yr-1 using 1990–2012 as reference period • FREL 2016 is used to evaluate REDD+ performance during the 2013–2020 implementation period • FREL 2016 is to be improved by incorporating missing sources/sinks • FREL 2020 is to be developed by incorporating wetlands

Objectives • To familiarize with 2013 IPCC Wetlands Supplement • Chapter 2: peatland draining • Chapter 3: peatland rewetting • Chapter 4: coastal wetlands • To diagnose the Transparency, Accuracy, Compatibility, Completeness and Consistency (TACCC) of Indonesian FREL 2016 • To analyze the uncertainty of Indonesian FREL 2016 Ø Improve FREL 2016 and FREL 2020
