Pelé is the most recognized face in the world, although the under-forties have never seen him play live. PELÉ STATION shows the essence of the legendary Pelé and his appeal to people from all over the world.

  31. 31. MEMORABILIA • When Brazil lost the World Championship 1950 against Uruguay, it was the first time for Pelé to see his father cry. Listening to his father’s radio he witnessed the dramatic defeat.
  32. 32. MEMORABILIA • In the forties the children played with balls made of socks. They dreamed of the day when they would have enough money to buy a real ball. The ball shown here is a donation by childhood friends in memory of that time.
