5. 5. CranioSacral Therapy

Cr anioSacral Therapy is a gentle hands on therapy to test for restrictions in the craniosacral system. The practitioner uses 5 grams of pressure – no more than the weight of a nickel – to monitor the rhythm of the cerebrospinal fluid as it flows through the system.

 6. 6. The CranioSacral System

The craniosacral system consists of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. It extends from the bones of the skull, face and mouth, which make up the cranium, down to the sacrum – tailbone area. An imbalance or restriction in this system could potentially cause any sensory, motor or neurological disabilities .

 8. 8. CST and Pregnancy Craniosacral therapy assists the pregnant woman by releasing restrictions in the body and pelvis to co-create optimal fetal positioning and an optimal birthing experience. Craniosacral supports the pregnant women’s inner resources for health, facilitating a balance in the body, heart and spirit. Through light touch, the therapist can balance the pelvis and uterus in pregnancy to prevent or correct ligament pain, low back, hip or rib pain and posterior fetal positioning, easing general pregnancy discomforts.

 10. 10. CranioSacral Therapy for Newborns CST is extremely valuable for a baby who experienced a challenging passage during labor and birth, creating intense pressures on the cranial structures and organ systems. This bodywork assists babies in releasing restrictive patterns in the body before they become issues later in life, thus preventing future disease and dysfunction . CST gently facilitates the release of restrictions in the myofascial tissues surrounding the tongue, facial bones, cranial bones, cranial nerves, sacrum and more, thus encouraging the increase in vitality and coherence of the CranioSacral rhythm. Through the CranioSacral practitione’s loving touch this natural relief of tension is easily done.
